Re: shutting off... [roymarko]

Roy - I would be happy to share with you the solution to my problem as I was beyond frustrated with this while it was occurring. The bottom line and as stupid as this sounds was that I had multiple keys, chains and a leather strap hanging from the "key chain" that was inserted in the iginition. When I made a right turn on uneven surfaces, my knee would "bump" against the excess keys, chains that were hanging. This would slightly turn the inserted ignition key backwards causing the car to stall. Currently, I only insert the key and have nothing else hanging from the ignition and the stalling has never happened again. That's it. Good luck. Todd

Did you ever get a reply or solution to this problem? I have a '99 town and country that starting to do the same thing! Any help would be much appreciated. Roy

Daimler knew how bad Chrysler was. Why do you think they unloaded it for so little? I'm not even in the business and knew something wasn't right about this deal. Cerebus was greedy and thought this was a good way to make a quick return on $8B. They have no commitment to the future of Chrysler. They just want out of the auto industry. Why reward them with a loan knowing they will just sell at the first opportunity? They are not it it to make cars, they are interested in ROI, period. I feel bad for the workers because they have no control over this.

Exactly rocky - you must sacrifice what you want to make so corporate cowards can reap more windfall incomes, and the idle rich can attain their entitlement of a 10% ROI...income and wealth consolidation, it's the American way! ;)

Man, that sucks that your rotors have gone to the dog's again. I really know how you feel. I went through 2 pair of rotors and one set of calipers on my 2000 Ex. It only had 7700 miles on it before someone crashed into it and totaled it out. Mabey a ABS problem? I wonder if that year is a :lemon: ? Although my 2001 Ex. did the same thing, but only once. I was lucky, my Excursions were still under warentee and Ford fixed them. Then I traded in my 2001 with 21000 miles on it, for a 2004 Ex. Eddie Bauer. The first thing I did was the brakes. The Cryo brakes have been working great with 28000 miles and I don't baby them by no means. I did not use FROZEN ROTORS so I can't compare them to the ones I have. I wish that yours had been reliable as mine. You may try twtcads fix with the slotted and dimpled rotors. He has 60K on them and no problems. I would look at the calipers real close and make sure that the pins move very easy without any slop in the bushing. This is a typical Ford caliper hang up. I wish I could suggest another solution for this braking problem. Good luck and I hope you get this fixed without a major headache. C/ya Later Andrew
