2009 SEL
by oldfordmech on Wed Oct 29 21:00:13 PDT 2008
I bought an 09 SEL in August, it's an ice blue 4dr, w/black leather (seats come heated in 09) the only options I ordered were an auto-trans and anti-lock brks. (comes w/ESC for 09) the only 2 options available I did not order was a moon-roof and a remote start. The car came w/205/50R16 Perellis ( it took me 3 times back to dealer to get the thump and vibration out of it. They had to replace 3 of the 4. I now have only 1 original tire but it rides great now. Now the good news, we took it on vacation the last 2 weeks of Sept. from Indianapolis In to El Paso,Tx. The car is rated 33mpg hwy. It gets 29 in the city /hwy combined and on the trip 1 tank full I got in Alamagorda,NM. to Okla, city it got 42.7 and then dropped down to 37.5 for the rest of the trip. Total mileage`for trip was 3,485 and total gas used was 90.1 gal. works out to 38.6 mpg and that was at 70 mph and a/c on most of the time. some 80 mph in Tx. Not Bad. I love this car ! (The seats are great,1 14hr day of driving proved that. and I'm 6'3 and 235 lbs.) any questions, fire them my way.

Dear Johnnytoobad, welcome to my world and to our club. You're not in El Paso are you? Don't worry it's just your daughter driving around with no brakes did the dealer specify the "outside influences", sounds like the old blame game they gave me telling me it was my fault that the brakes burned out to metal on metal in 4200 miles on a brand new 2008 jetta b/c I sucked at driving. Have you ever heard of customer service like this??? :lemon: :lemon: :lemon: :lemon: :lemon: no matter what, make sure you file a complaint with the national complaint line about this (see my previous posts for number) and tell them to addend it to my file Tom Repine from El Paso TX b/c VW still believes that there isn't any known problem about this--and I'm glad to show them the error of their ways. Thanks Tom

You are absolutely correct. If I owned a 1960's muscle car, I wouldn't hesitate to use a K & N air filter. They are a well designed and constructed product. They are such a risk to modern engines, they are even banned from use by Dodge on any DIESEL engines according to the dealerships. They claim the stock OEM filters do a better job of keeping the dirt out of critical areas. Since I can see daylight when I hold my K & N filter up to the sun, I am inclined to agree. Besides, the whole point was to improve my fuel economy which it did not. :confuse:

The blue color is probably the most attractive of all, As far as paint durability, I strongly recommend a coat of Mehuir's NXT liquid wax every three months or so. It unabrasive, and is the most reflective wax in the long history of the company. It also has a UV blocker in it much like a sunblock lotion to prevent fading. I have been using this wax on my 2006 Chrysler 300C and it is pained Inferno Red (looks like a dark candy apple), and I have a showroom new look. Enjoy you beautiful Charger and take good care of it. :D
