Re: Rear end Alignment [tacman1]

Hey man, I have the same problem with an '06 Civic LX Coupe. I just spent $1050 replacing all of the tires at 23,000 miles and a total alignment. What seems to happen with Honda, is that they are tight fisted in paying and acknowledging any problem. I have not found that true with the so called big three. I have an '05 Accord that has 59,000 miles and the tires still look good and don't need to be replaced. The wear is even and they have never had to be re-balanced. They run perfectly. The Accord has made a fan of me, but I am disgusted with the Civic. I see that Honda is just like the big three. They don't get it right during the first year. Forget a new Accord. I will give them plenty of time to resolve any issues with it.
Re: Tire problem doesn't seem to be happening with just Civic Hybrids [lakota24]

I just happened to log on tonight and read about the problem with the '06 Civic. My teenage son has an '06 Civic LX Coupe. I just spent $1050 on the same alignment issue. I thought he might have done something to it to cause this, although that is not his driving style. The service manager said that it was not his fault; that it was badly out of alignment in the rear. I had to replace the rear Michelin tires because it had eaten up the inside of the tires. I just had them replace all four. I was not told of any problem that the '06 Civic was experiencing. Now, I have paid for it and I am trying to figure out how to go about reimbursement. This is the third Honda in our family since '05.

I have an '05 Accord Coupe and mine does that. I usually wash the windshield when I am sitting still. I don't see it as a problem. When I am moving, the spray moves back on the driver window. I don't like it but it is not a big problem to me. I am sure it is the way the car is designed.
Re: Problems with 2005 CTS [ctsjunk]

I am surprised that you are talking about the roaring. I have an '05 CTS with 26,000 miles. At this point, I have not had any repair problems but it is early yet. At 15,000 miles, my tires were cupped and roaring. I am replacing them the next week. I am going to try the recommended rotation every 5,000 and the alignment every 15,000 and see if the second run is better. It is ridiculous that a car would be designed with this type of alignment problem. I am not sure what the directional issue would do. My son had the same thing as you on a 2005 Civic and it affected the handling. If you have gotten 25,000 miles plus out of your tires, then I would not say you have worn them any more than normal. A guy was in the tire store here with a CTS-V and he has to replace his tires every 12,000. No wonder General Motors is in trouble. The Cadillac dealer is the one who has advised me on the rotation and alignment. He says the car has a very aggressive suspension. Wow!

I also have an '05 CTS. Get ready on the tires! This car chews them up. I am putting a new set on the car this week. I purchased wheels and tires which were new on ebay. These are wheels and tires off an STS. From some of the other posts, I don't think it makes a lot of difference whether you rotate them or not. Mine started the roaring at 15,000 and now I have 26,000. I have not had your other problems but it is in part relective of GM's sloppiness.
Re: 06 Cadillac CTS - $37,500 (incl tax/title) - Going with 60 mth 0% financing [fenwah]

I think that is a decent price. There is not as much markup in the CTS as some people think. I had a GM card when I bought my 05. It had 2200 on it and there was no limit then. I also had the Citibank card with earnings. As far as I know, there is no limit on the GM card. They max it out at 3500 and that is the only limit of which I am aware.
