>eliminate some of the clouding is to just take some toothpaste I read your comment about toothpaste. I read somewhere else to use toothpaste that is the old style--not gel--so that you get the limestone in it. I tried it. It works. Keep adding fresh paste. Use a small piece of terrycloth. Rub. I did NOT use a toothbrush. I did NOT use sandpaper. I also used ScratchOut which I figured has grit. I also used Meguiar's plastic polish. I also used GM plastic polish from 1978 meant for interior lenses. I have one lens on my Buick looking great. Mine was generally within 1-2 inches of the top edge of the plastic cover.

Hey, that sounds like a great RT! My own '03 Forester XS is just around 57K and has about 5K on its Goodyears and I'd love to find the time to do something similar. I'd stick to I-70 and its byroads if I were you; I-80 is b-o-r-i-n-g, as I well know from having done it in the opposite direction from Chicago. When you cross the Wabash into IN, head up north a bit to Turkey Run SP, which has a number of spectacular limestone cliffs, "backbones" and other cool rock formations, all of which will be in their Spring glory then. The Inn there is a nice old-fashioned SP hotel full of character and is pretty reasonable. If you belong to Triple A, which I also recommend, check out their Tourbooks for your route; they're loaded with really cool stuff that very few people bother to see but then wish they had. And yes, I'd definitely take the Subie. You never know what kind of weather you'll get along that route and it'll be up to the worst of it.

Just leased a 2008 3.6 Premium (Ice Silver/Limestone Gray) with Convenience Pkg. Nav, 20's, and 4-Zone Climate Control. This was a rare car given it did NOT have a sunroof, which we did NOT want anyway. Only other option that we would have preferred would have been the 6-seater configuartion, but there didn't seem to be very many in SoCal, at least in our desired color combo. MSRP: $55,425.00 Invoice: $52,066.25 Cap cost: $52,566.25 ($500 over invoice) MF: .0009 (2.16% APR) Residual: 53% w/o Audi Care 54% w/ Audi Care Terms: 36mo,10k/yr (minimun drive-offs - ~$2k) Total: $770.65 (includes 7.75% tax rate) Dealer was Audi of Mission Viejo. Great service and even got a better deal working with a retail salesman over Fleet! Standard fleet deal was $1000 over at all dealerships I contacted., and probably could have got the same deal in that department, but decided to give the kid who demo'd the car for us a shot. Just had to tell him what I wanted and he worked to get it done. Awesome customer service! I did all my negotiating via phone, e-mail and fax.

Okay, some factual corrections first: 1. Far more trees were removed when the glacial ice covered half the North American Continent, reaching all the way down to New York City . . . in other words, no tree in Canada, New England, Up state, or the Midwest. 2. Far more trees were removed, again, when North America was settled by Native Americans, who burned down entire forests to make room for buffalos, on which their livelihood depended. 3. Far more trees were removed, yet again, when North America was settled by European settlers, who practiced small lot intensive farming and sheep herding. The overwhelming majority of New England trees are replants after the British Royal Navy took the original virgin forest for ship building . . . just like they had done to Britain, several times over. 4. Einstein was a genius, but he was not born early enough to be in a place to predict atomic theory. 5. Historical temperature record does matter, because the whole theory about humans driving this planet hotter than it ever was falls complete flat if the plaet was warmer before there ever was human being. 6. For what it's worth, trees can not even begin to compare to oceanic algae in terms of CO2 sink function. All the CO2 that trees ever absorb shows up as plant mass; old trees don't even grow much, so it can't possibly be absorbing much CO2. 7. Even the algae can not compare to the ocean itself, and the limestone formation/subduction at the bottom of the ocean, in terms of CO2 absorption capacity. Now here is the real biggie for us car lovers: 8. Subducted limestone mixed with water under high temperature and high pressure conditions that are common in the earth's upper mantel can produce hydrocarbon! That may well be the fundamental source of carbonaceous fuel (natural gas, oil and coal). So the burning of carbonaceous fuel may just be the most efficient way of utilizaing geothermoal, gravitational energy (earth's upper mantel being constantly energized by the earth-moon interaction), and radioactive energy (redioactive decade inside the planet), the three main energy sources for the high temperature and high pressure inside the planet.
2008 Audi TT Roadster

Well I guess I will be the first to list my deal on the NEW TT Roadster! Here is my deal, CarMan (an others), please comment when you have some time. 2008 Audi TT Roadster 2.0 TFSI Brilliant Black with Limestone Gray Leather/Alcantara Premium Package Bose Surround Sound Audi Navigation Plus Bi-xenon adaptive headlights 18 inch 7 arm alloy wheels with Z rated tires Bluetooth cell phone prep MSRP with destination = $45,570 Agreed sale price = $43,776 (4% off MSRP) Residual = 57% Term = 36 months Mileage: 12K/year Money Factor = .00240 (didn't think a car this new and this hot would have a very good money factor - and it didn't, although not horrible, i.e. Porsche) Drive off is $3K, which includes $700 to the state of Arizona for plates and gov't fees, $575 for acquisition fee, $388 for doc fee and $1337 cap cost reduction. Total monthly is $696/mo. Any advice. Great deal? I think not. Bad deal? I think not. I look at it as being the best I could do under the circumstances. The new TT roadster is not even out yet, waiting lists exist and the car has been getting rave reviews - so I was surprised to finally find a dealer who would give me 4% off - most told me 1% off tops! So, why do I feel like it is not a good deal???? Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions from anyone......
