Toyota policy gets more and more frustrating
by daleyplanit on Wed Nov 12 08:43:54 PST 2008
Septebmer 22 - Lia Toyota, Colonie, NY " Your truck is not safe to drive. You can't keep your truck here uness you pay $35 per day. You have to drive it home or pay to have it towed. You get no loaner. Call 1-800-Go-Toyota." Toyota corporate offers me $1000 less than KBB value to buy my truck back. I can't get enymore from them. I ask toyota for money to tow it back to the dealer if i need to for the buyback - they decline my request. October 22; Toyota Care Customer support techs Autumn Branch and Joey Lopez "So long as we can load it on a truck, we can tow it from your house." I ask for this in writing, they decline my request. I 'unregister the truck, take the plates off and take the insurance off. November 12- Toyota ISG rep calls about my check "You must have the truck at the dealership to collect payment. We do not provide towing and will not come to your house." Now I have to pay to tow it back to the dealership. This is outrageous. Excuse me but this is complete bull$hit. If Toyota would but things in writing, or give me the same story twice in a row this would not happen. I am so angry right now I could explode.

Chkman and theiglu You both mentioned cases of getting a loaner for 2001 model year failures. Is this up to the dealership to decide? I don't understand why I was declined the option. My dealership (Lia Toyota in Colonie NY) refused my requests I'll call out the Toyota care representatives I've spoken to - Joey Lopez and Autumn Branch - both told me that there was no way I could get a loaner or be reimbursed for one. WTF is going on here? I've been out of a car for 60 days!!!!

the current administration won't financially support the "merger", the first time ever I think when Bush and I are in agreement, but it sounds like both major presidential candidates are for the idea. So in 2 months GM will have all the government support it needs, at least from the executive branch. Time for me to begin my letter-writing campaign NOW to my congressional representatives....

None of the advanced hybrid components will be built in the USA. Yes, they want the cars to actually work correctly and last a long time. ;) AFAIC, weather bankruptcy or merger, when the smoke clears, (which will be years not months) we should see top line world-class products emerge that inspire passion, are efficient and have the highest quality in the world. Oh, and make a profit as well as balance return for the three main branches of business: Stock Holders, Employees and Customers. Not just management of the business and unions. This is the "nebulous" business model that many corporations fail to grasp. Therefore, resulting in financial crisis. Once one or two of the branches become unbalanced from the others for extended periods of time, failure results. Now, the industry must be rebuilt. Agreed?? Regards, OW
Re: Current lease rates on '09 Jetta SE Manual? [Car_man]
by hlcastelo on Thu Oct 30 06:38:52 PDT 2008
This past weekend I lease a manual TDI with optional equipment 36 mos, 15k miles for about $30 less per month than VW's rate. Down payment was $550. Lease is carried by a local branch bank. It may be that VW rates are more competitive with the non-TDI models. For TDI their money factor is too high. Although my lease is 3 mos. less than VW's program I did get 3000 extra miles a year from the standard VW lease. Lesson here is inquire about local bank financing as an option.

We have a 2008 EX Auto cloth with 8500 miles It was built 12/07. We have none of these issues except occasional clunk out of the rear suspension. It feels like I went over tree branch or little rock but when I look back, there is nothing on the road. I am waiting to hear several more before taking it in. It is my wife's car so I have not experienced enough to describe it to the service guy. I am sure they will listen to me, have me leave the car there, and will say everything is right and tight and could not find anything. That is a typical response to build and design flaws. Joe
