Re: Honda Recalls [thamptonroads]

Not sure if there have been more than 10 since 2004, but you can count my 2003 Pilot as number 11 if there haven't. My tranny LOCKED last week when I was going 35-40 mph. I literally started bouncing down the road since the wheels stopped turning. We had the recall work done. My car has very high mileage, but even then, a transmission fails gracefully, not dies a violent death. I can't get the Kodak moment out of my mind about how serious this could have been if someone had been coming in the opposite lane or if my 4 kids had been in the car. I makes me sick to my stomach. It's only by the grace of God, I wasn't going 65 down the interstate. It worries me that this could happen to other 2003 Pilot drivers.
dinosaurs get caught

Dinosaurs seem to die off, getting caught out in the cold or rapid change. Was amazed at how long it took for Kodak to realize the digital age of photography had arrived. GM, Ford and even Chrysler, with its flash of newness, all seem to be tired, old and sleepy. Well that is with a few exceptions, such as the Corvettes. Mostly we have trucks, SUVs and dull looking, rental fleet autos to choose from. Some of the newer, somewhat fresh stuff, is looking a bit old, as design work to freshen hits the wall. I guess some may argue that the CTS is all new, or really updated, but to me it is just so-so, in that the size is growing and look is getting somewhat cluttered. The interior is refined now, but not its own look - not that it is not much more pleasing. Wonder if Kodak is using all SUVs for company cars :P -Loren
Re: Replace your potenzas with Contis [enforcer]

I just had all my tires( Turanza) replaced ( 2006 325xi) with less than 10k as per the TSB. I actually read it here on this blog and went to the dealer with my complaint and he had them all changed to the Conti SSR only because they were out of stock from the Turanza's( Sheesh was I lucky ). :) So I thank the member who posted the TSB for this info

What's in a Name. We used to be so brand conscious. Now the brand seems so unimportant. Some companies have spent $millions to get a name that means absolutely nothing in any language. Some names are surrounded in mystery. Possibly the most universally recognized name worldwide is Kodak. Yet it is becoming just another name in this age of digital photography. What was more American than GM? Where does an Aveo come from? Ever see a Zenith TV anymore. They are just a brand owned by the LG conglomerate out of Korea. Maytag just part of the Whirlpool conglomerate. Who knows where your appliances are made until you get them delivered to your kitchen. I don't think there is a vehicle made 100% in the USA today.

CM5 (that sounds cooler, eh?), the baby seat itself is slightly wider than the widest part of the base, but not by that much. I'll try to take a pic of the baby seat in its base later (the seat happens to be the baby's happy place, so I don't have much opportunity to yoink the seat away for a photo opportunity). About the "my box is bigger than your box" thingy, umm, I wasn't being totally serious with my comments, ya know. In any case, I was just curious about why you would use that photo to demonstrate the cargo capacity of your vehicle when the cargo didn't actually fit. But I now get it that it was more about showing off what the vehicle can do (a "wow" Kodak moment) rather than what the vehicle can actually hold.
