And if things in CA weren't bad enough, isn't the Governator proposing a 1.5% increase to the sales tax rate (taking the rate in LA County to over 10%) to cover a budget shortfall predicted for the next few years? 100 million passengers? There are 36 million people living in the state of California; are we to expect that every person in the state (from Blythe to Humboldt) will ride this new train 3 times a year? It's not like it will be a commuter train (which does exist in SoCal by the way - and would run fine except for the engineers texting civilians when they should be looking at the signals), where someone would travel from SF to LA for the day, then return in the evening.

This is what I did to solve this issue on my Fit Sport... it will solve the volume problem on your CR-V also.. After reading all the bad reviews, I decided not to get the Honda iPod Player when I purchased my Sport Auto. At first, I just plugged the 3.5MM mini jack cable into the Fit’s Aux port. I noticed that in order to get any sound, I had to really turn up the volume on the iPod and the Fit’s stereo. A couple of weeks ago I bought a Monster Cable iCarCharger. http://www.monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=2132 This thing has a mini-jack line output right on the charger’s dock connector and when I ran the cable from this connector to the Aux port, all the volume issues disappeared and the sound quality is noticeably better. You can buy these things for less than $30 and it is a great alternative to the Honda solution.

The second 911 is for sale on the Pelican Parts website for $16,500. Shows up on Craigslist in Humboldt too. Scammers are getting better, but what is the scam. Do people wire a deposit, send the whole thing before even seeing the car? I don't buy cars online or otherwise until I touched it with my own two hands.

My 2007 EX-L 2WD (16K miles), typically averages 28mpg on the 252 mile trip from Humboldt County to San Francisco. This first 150 miles is mountainous, and my mileage is in the 26mpg range. Once out of the mountains, it’s getting 30+… this is at 70 mph. In local driving (there is no city driving here) I get 24-25.
Re: Wind/Road Noise: Was It Fixed In Redesign? [lzc]
by rsm333 on Fri Dec 21 20:01:27 PST 2007
My wife has an 05 EX AWD and I have an 07 EX FWD. The 07 is quieter, but there is still road noise (wind noise is not a problem with my 07). Changing tires does make a modest difference in road noise (on both cars) and a very large difference in handling and braking. I just returned from a 500 mile trip in my 07, and I never felt bothered by noise.

Parts of California are as red-necky as your fondest dreams! (up in Mendocino and Humboldt Counties) or more NRA than the NRA (San Diego). No there's no hunting because the areas are too populated. The interesting thing about the Bay Area is that wildlife is right in your face in spite of the population density. This is due to massive acreage that is Nat'L Park or State Recreational areas surrounding the entire Bay Area. Blue Herons eat your goldfish. It's pretty funny. I don't think the SMART has any more chance of being a "hit" in America than an Edsel would being a hit in Europe.
