Re: the price [duke23]: by explorerx4 on Sun Oct 26 15:52:31 PDT 2008; duke, your post knocked me back a bit, when i read it. i had heard about the Larson bill, not sure where i read it, didn't really know enough to figure if it was really significant. anyways, the small world part is, I remember John stopping over my in-laws on christmas day back when he was first starting out in politics(neighborhood rep). He grew up with some of my wifes brothers and sisters. I also saw him present quite an interesting speech on the adverarial relationship of John Adams and Thomas Jefferson as the keynote speaker for the annual arrival of the Amistad in Hartford.

Instrument cluster: by rbguzzi on Sun Oct 05 06:36:02 PDT 2008; The cluster went out a couple of times on my 2002 1.8 turbo all wheel drive. It always came back after I fiddled witht the fuses although never in direct response to my fiddling. Then about a month ago it went out in a big way, no tach, speedo, fuel or temp. Mmy TT is "too old" to qualify for the settlement so I am having it fixed by a garage in Hartford which has replaced clusters previously. Audi wanted $800 for a "rebuilt" cluster.I will be getting it from BBA remanufacturing for $250. It has a warrantee and will need to be reprogrammed with 60 miles. I plan to sue Audi USA in small claims ct. once I have the invoice finalized. The cluster did not perform as impliedly warranted. It may take a while but I believe I will be successful.

Re: - Laws [grbeck]: by kernick on Tue Sep 09 09:12:17 PDT 2008; The average speed on many interstates in MA, even in relatively heavy traffic areas Rt.495, I-90, I-84 Hartford to Worcester is 75 mph. There's no carnage there either. People driving all the time on I-95 and I-91 in ME, NH, and Vt - no carnage there either. The fatal accidents are mainly on the 2-lane side highways that are posted between 35 mph and 50 mph, where there are passing zones. Actually if the SL's were raised there - 10mph or so there would be less passing and therefore less head-ons from frusttrated drivers who did a poor job estimating the passing time. I safely drove that road commuting for 10 years at an average of 15mph higher than the SL, so I know the SL's could be higher and still safe.
