2004 Suburban 1500 LS 2wd
by beach15 on Sun Sep 02 19:31:33 PDT 2007
Back to ask this again, now in the market again for another GM. Location: Southern Delaware/the beach Year/Make/Model: 2004 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 LS 2wd Body Style: 4-door full-size SUV Engine: 5.3L Flex Fuel V8, 4-speed automatic Driveline: RWD Mileage: 50,000 Color: Summite White w/ 2-tone Gray cloth Major Options: Front buckets, 6-CD 9-speaker BOSE, locking differential, OWL tires, full roof rack, rear net & cargo cover, liftgate/liftglass, steering wheel audio controls, power pedals, and Homelink. Condition: -Outside: Washed weekly and fully detailed every few weeks. Paint, ALL trim, wheels, and glass indistinguishable from new except for some pinpoint hood face chips. Original tires still have about half tread and brakes far more than half. -Inside: Again, immaculate, with the OEM floor mats covered with custom rubber mats immediately, clean and unworn seats and no faded or broken pieces--only flaw being paint flaked off the radio power button. -Mechanical: Oil changed every 3k, chassis lubed every few times, and tires continually rotated. Everything works and sounds just like when new, with no issues. Other: Never any damage or repairs, and no dings or scratches. Considering trading for a GMC Acadia or Saturn Outlook (still looking), and trying to get a better price idea. With the '02 Avalanche we had before, we got the Edmunds used vale DEAD on immediately, and here it's $16,550...so wondering REAL-WORLD.
Thinking of buying a 2007 Altima S
by elmoblatch2 on Fri Jul 06 20:18:15 PDT 2007
We just started looking tonight and may go to make a deal tomorrow. We checked out the reviews from other owners on Edmunds and most folks seemed very happy. The wife likes white for a color, I think it will be too hard to keep clean. I sat in the back seat and head roon was a little crampt, but then I am 6'3" so I guess that's OK. I am going to read the other posts here and hope a few night owls will respond in the mean time. Thanks in advance.
Re: 2003 Expedition XLT 4WD recommendation [tonyd38]

I would recommend using the 265/70/17 Bridgestone Dueler Alenza (142.00 each). they will offer the best overall dry, wet, and snow traction. The Michelin Cross Terrain would be my second best recommendation simply because it is more expensive. The over all characteristic of the tires is very similar except for the mileage. The Bridgestone will last a little longer. The price difference between the outline white letter, S speed rating, H speed rating is determined by our purchasing department based on the price we had to purchase the tires at. I have no part in that so i really couldn't say why one is more than another.   Bridgestone Dueler HL ALENZA -- 142.00 ea Michelin Cross Terrain H speed -- 164.00 ea Michelin Cross Terrain S speed -- 167.00 ea Michelin Cross Terrain S speed, OWL-- 165.00 ea   connor@tirerack.com Tire & Wheel Specialist The Tire Rack 877-522-8473 ext 269 When placing an order online or the phone, please reference Connor at ext 269

I hear ya! I used to wash my dad's 87 Taurus LX (the car I learned to drive on) with the "basket" wheels. I tried everything to get the brake dust out of those nooks and crannies but the only thing that worked was a toothbrush or a bottle brush.    Plus it had white walls that needed cleaning too! The '05 Escape wheels are worlds cleaner than those on the older models. Plus our Limited doesn't have the OWL tires so cleaning the wheels takes about 2 min. per wheel. It was about 5 min per wheel when we had the '02 Escape with the OWL tires.
'04 Yukon XL Price
by beach15 on Tue May 04 16:44:33 PDT 2004
We've seriously been considering replacing our flawless black '02 Avalanche Z66 with a new 2wd Suburban or Yukon XL to get more room. Because we have no use for 4wd, and because 2wd models are so scarce, the choices are limited. The closest match is about 200 miles away but I had a local dealer give me a quote price for it if they were to transfer it for me. It's a 2004 Yukon XL SLE 2wd, white with neutral tan cloth, Power Pedals, Cargo Pack, OWL tires, side airbags, and running boards, for a total of $40,105. Their best price quote is $32,500. I thought this was maybe a grand or so too high, but every other dealer I got a quote from also gave me almost an identical price. First of all, is this a good price, and second, has anyone heard of rebates going up again soon (one news story said that inventories are piled up heavily in places and GM might increase the cash back again to help clear them out). Also, hows the Premium Ride suspension? I know it's a step down from the Z66 suspension on our Avalanche, but what's the ride and handling generally like? Oh, and how much have the brakes actually improved on '04 models, for those of you who had older models before?

Stands for Outlined White Lettering. The stock Contitental Contitracs on the Escape and Tribute are pretty mediocre tires, as are the Bridgestone Dueler H/Ts on the CR-V. The ideal replacement tires are the Michelin Cross Terrain SUVs for the Escape/Trib and the Bridgestone Dueler H/Ls for the CR-V. I'll immediately replace the tires are whichever model I buy next month.
