"...It looks like someone with new blue jeans sat in the driver's beige leather seat and squirmed their butt around..." Gee, I was squirming my butt around in a beige leather Honda at the auto show. :surprise: Wait, it couldn't be me. I don't own a NEW pair of jeans. Now if those seats had mud or manure on them... ;)

It is funny to look at those numbers yet see all over edmunds (this thread included) that Ford is losing leadership and the Tundra is going to blah blah blah, but as you can see like every year we are ahead of Chevrolet and beating the wannabe truck makers like a drum. Hell those numbers don't even include medium and heavy sales which we are stomping a mud hole in the competitors butt there also.
Tigerhonaker Just Purchased a 2007 Honda Accord Hybrid:
by tigerhonaker on Sat Aug 11 14:00:25 PDT 2007
Hi Edmonds Members: Take-Delivery This Coming Week: Well there have been different ones of you that wanted to know what I was doing. I have been trying to purchase a 2007 HAH (Honda Accord Hybrid) for the past Two-Weeks. There were 3-In this Zone when I started the Negotations with my local dealer. When the Final-Numbers were (Agreed-Upon) there was {1-Left} PERIOD. After two days of calling the dealer in Ga. to dealer trade for it, finally the dealer called back and agreed to trade and release the HAH. So talk about the Last-Moment. I traded in my 12K mile HCH II that most of you have seen Pics of and Threads/Post about on GH & www.CleanMPG.com It was a very nice Hybrid and it did get some Great FE. It was Loaded with Every-Honda-Factory-Option. What it was not ever going to do in my or your Life-Time was be FAST or anything resembling Fast. Sorry HCH I & HCH II Owners. But that is the TRUTH and if you own either model you adjust to it's Capabilities. Most of the time it is not a Problem. But believe me it is a Major Problem In Heavy Traffic, Multi-Lane Interstates with Traffic running 75-85 MPH and all over the place. Makes one or me a little Nervous. So when I read that the 2007 HAH was going to be the (Very-Last-Year) I decided to get off my butt and make the move. I have driven the HAH's many times over the past yrs. I Love the way the car runs and handles. It is Quiet and you can get out of Harms-Way when Necessary. Another thing that I wanted was "White" on the "Outside" and a Light Color on the Inside. It has been like in the low 100 plus Degree Temps here and going to be this coming week. I want COOL. Another thought comes to my mind regarding my decision on the HAH. I also was going to consider the Honda E-XL V-6 with Nav. But I looked at the numbers for FE and what people really got for their FE that owned it. So decided to go with the HAH for these reasons. Fuel Economy for a High-Performance Vehicle Its Horsepower IMA Assist Ability to shut down 3-of-the-6 Cyclinders for Economy Right Size Car, Not too big, Not too small Very Quiet Engine Very Quiet Interior Love the Appointments in the Interior Fit & Finish get a Plus 10 I like the Dual-Exhaust w/Chrome-Tips I like the 3rd Brake-Light Design I like the HAH only Brakelights, Very Nice Honda Nav gets a Plus-10 Dash gets a Plus-10; Very Easy to Read Outside of HAH is just a KNOCK-OUT Appearance to me Hey let's not (Forget) the "outside-Mirrors" with Turn Indicators Dual-Purpose Hybrid= Performance & FE=Driver Picks Which Also thought about the Lexas 450h. I got to drive one at Hybridfest 2006. What a car !!!!!!!!! Talk about Performance in a Hybrid. So what put the Binders on ???? Two-Things: (1) Price, Double the HAH (2) No Fe Period, HAH can get FE if you want it Already spoke of the Honda EX-L V-6. Nice car but not very good FE compared to the HAH, IMO Just to mention a few things here on this Post. The HCH II I had did not seem to work right with the IMA System. Dealer Replaced the ECM/PCM you Pick. The CVT IMO was not working Correctly. It seemed to kinda pause when held wide open to Accelerate. I drove a New 2007 HCH II and it did not operate the same as my HCH II. So with me saying that, I decided since the HCH II had only just reached the 12K in mileage it was time to make a move. The CVT's might be just fine but in all Honesty I think (I-Know) I prefer a more Normal Trans. Like the HAH has. I think there is room for Improvement on the CVT's from all manufacturers, Honda included. Never told anyone this but I was on the Interestate driving one morning and all of a "SUDDEN" everyone {STOPS} !!!!!!!! No the HCH II did not {STOP}. Well not behind the vehicle directly in front of me. Thankfully I am still pretty darn quick with my Reflexes and went to the Left-on-The-Shoulder and Stopped. What I am saying is this. IMO the HCH II does not STOP real Quick. So that is another reason I traded it off: The comments I have made here are not intended to get any Member on the "War-Path" that happens to own the HCH I or HCH II. I am talking about {ME} only and why I made the decision to Purchase the HAH. What I hope that does not take place on this Thread is a (BATTLE) between the HAH Owners and the HCH Owners. I was asked what and why I was trading the HCH II. My replies are Honest, but do not Represent other HCH Owners. Enough-Said !!!!!!!!! The HAH is Premium-White-Pearl W/Ivory Leather Interior. (1) Mud Guards (2) Fog Lights (3) Premium Floor Mats (4) Auto-Dimming-Mirror (5) Sylvania 9005SU BP TWIN Silverstar Ultra, Twin Pack Sylvania 9006SU BP TWIN Silverstar Ultra, Twin Pack Here are Pics made this morning of my New 2007 HAH with Nav. It came in Last-Night to Darrell Waltrip Honda in Franklin, TN. Part of the Hendrick Group. These were taken with my Cell-Phone. Iam happy to hear your not having any problems. But we can't all live in aperfect world. My outlander has never been off paved roads. We do have a thing called winter & sand&salt. If you take a good look at the design of this vehicle you will see that the front tires are going to sling everything right up the side of the car.I had mud gaurds installed before delivery so thats not the answer.Iam not going to buy something from japan or UK to cover mitsubishi's butt.the cure would be running boards but none available for outlander

I really appreciate all the effort you guys are going through to sell me on a less expensive vehicle, but when I focus on particular vehicle, it's very hard for me to switch away from it. Besides, my wife works for a Tier 1 supplier of GM and Ford, so I can get plan prices. Not so with DC. The choice is either get the CX-9 now if the finances work out (which they do not), or wait until I have more equity in my trade-in. I completely understand, but dang if it isn't pricey. If it was $25K or so, it would be a nice choice, but 30K+, you honestly should either get a proper car like the 2008 CTS when it comes out or a real 4x4. By the way, Suzuki's AWD is like most others in that it's not full-time 4x4, which is what she really wants for safety. Now, the marketers all say "AWD", and you probably believe it, but what you think of when they talk about bad weather safety and performance... that's full-time 4WD. This part-time transfer back and forth nonsense does nothing if you hit a patch of ice or your tires drop off of the road(uneven pavement, too), or simmilar. Subaru has a nice video on Google about this - a 20 minute test of AWD systems and the thing is that all but one of the competitors outright fails at every test. Not a little, but drastically and plainly failing. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4999142340359932162 This is biased of course, but the results on the wet track and dirt don't lie - the part-time systems are useless in actual use in bad weather and only really serve to make you feel safer. A vehicle in 4x4 mode would have little problem with any of the tests.(the Subaru being full-time 4x4 is a noteable exception as it shows) I really suggest a 4wd vehicle instead, or just getting a lower center of gravity sedan(which are plenty safe in the rain, actually, with proper tires). EDIT: One last thing. Only three AWD systems work. The rest just plainly don't and are a waste of money - and in some cases make the car less safe than a typical sedan with some Aquatreds. 1:Subaru 2:Jeep - Freedom Drive 2 and simmilar(Freedom Drive 1 - kind of iffy) 3:Audi - Quattro. That's it. Subaru and Audi have copied each other for decades and it shows. Jeep - they worked their butts off to make sure it all works properly for off-road use. Or you could just get a 4-Runner. There's nothing bad about it, to be honest. Excellent off-road and in snow/mud.

belias, I to some degree disagree with you as I'd rather have a AWD car or long/wide wheel based Full-Size SUV on ice over a RWD/FWD car. (I'll explain later) The midsize SUV's end up in the ditch because their wheel bases are way to short. Ever notice why a Jeep Wrangler is great in Snow and Mud but stinks in slippery conditions ? Hell they stink in rain and are just to tipsy. I agree many drivers get a false security with 4WD but a Wide Wheel Base AWD/4WD Car/SUV/Truck is damn hard to beat. FWD/RWD on real icy conditions tend to have their butts slide out because they are so nose heavy and once you lose a FWD car it's very hard to recover it and most are headed for the ditch. RWD sucks because unless your car has some weight it will spin it tail back n' forth but if you lose it on ice it is the easiest to recover and thus is why I've always been told if I was driving a 4WD Truck or SUV that has 2WD option to engage the 2WD mode if I was slipping out of control to recover from a slide.
