Is this a good deal for a used 350z?

Looking for a used enthusiast, auto, with less then 40k miles on it. I saw an add for a enthusiast, auto with 48k miles on it for $15980. Is that a good deal or worth less??

I have been selling GAP for 7 years... So this is a biased opinion. Buying GAP from your insurance company is the worst investment... It's not an investment, it's insurance. The money spent on it is exactly that - an expenditure. And tell me how paying $499.00 to $599.00, with interest added, is better than paying $10.00-15.00/6 mo. And you may cancel it at any time when your car is worth more than what you owe - usually within three years, unless some obscene amount of negative equity was rolled into the new loan. Last do you really want your own insurance company to hold all the eggs in one basket? I prefer to deal with my insurance company rather than an outfit I've never dealt with.

I have an 07 Ody EX-L The dealer threw in the wheel locks for me - I think it's worth it because I've heard that if anything, the wheels are a really big target for theft. It used to be the radio but I hear that's not such a draw anymore. Probably a very low likelihood of theft anyway, but worth having, I think. Mud guards: I put those on myself - got them from http://www.handaaccessories.com/. Easy to install, and reduces mess on the car body, and improves the look, I think. Moonroof visor: I had the dealer do this one - negotiated it as part of the purchase. Probably easy enough to purchase and install, but having them do it puts it under warranty. Another owner of the same model who doesn't have the moonroof visor tells me that it makes a big difference to have it. Reduces wind noise. Trunk liner: Also purchased from http://www.handaaccessories.com/ and "installed" myself (you just lay it in there - not very technically challenging!) I have to say I am very disappointed in this one. We had an 01 Ody and had the Honda trunk liner for it, and it was quite substantial. Unfortunately, you can't use it in the 07 Ody's. The new one feels quite flimsy, and it folds and 'crinkles'. It is not a quality product due to the materials used. And you pay an arm and a leg for it. The function is valuable though, if you put lots of kids' stuff and dog stuff and groceries and whatever in there (we do) since it keeps things clean and protects against the possibility of something leaking and making a mess. You just pull it out and dump it. I got a cheap ($20) set of 4 rubber floor mats from Costco (two in front, two in back) which are okay. Sets like this are usually 4x that cost from what I've seen. But from what I've read on this board about the weathertech liners, I am seriously considering those for all 3 rows. They'll do a much better job. The only other thing I have is a hitch, which I transferred over from the 01 Ody - it's an aftermarket Hidden Hitch. If I were to put on cross bars, I would only go with a Thule or Yakima system. They'll be more sturdy and allow you to carry a better variety of things and handle more weight. None of the other items you mentioned are of interest to me.

Regarding Porsche pricing after 1973, I'm starting to see what you mean about the older they are the less they are worth. There are a lot of rust bucket 911 T's out there for $25,000 and up. I've found that poor condition or high mileage after 1973 really makes the price drop, too. I believe the T's were over in 1973. I have heard to stay away from the years 1974 to 1977. I don't know why or if this is true. The sc's began in 1978 to 1983. Then you had that period from 1984 to 1986 where the engine went from 3.0 to 3.2, but the trans and clutch did not improve until 1987-1989. I've driven the 3.0 911 SC and the '87 911 3.2 with the heavier (but improved) trans and clutch. It could have been my imagination, but I thought the SC with the smaller engine was quicker than the heavier '87 with the bigger engine. Back to the marketplace, I don't look at the '87 to '89's as being a better car than the SC's (as the marketplace does). To me, they are two different Porsches with different feels. Another question, I've heard the post !973 Porsches will not appreciate much in the near future because there were so many shipped to North America. But, when I look at the production numbers of around 2 to 3,000 a year, that doesn't seem like a lot of cars to me. The only thing I can think of is that the marketplace for older Porsches is also proportionately smaller. Earl

Thank you very much for your advise. Very much appreciate your taking the time to respond. I am not much of a handyman but I will certainly try your suggestion. How do you check if power is going to the compressor?
