Interesting link. Lennox Industries (made both my heat pumps for this home). Currently 15 years old approx. Yup, Union Made doesn't last. Neighbor had a friend install a Haier (China) heatpump. Lasted 2 months. Mother Earth magazine-editorial staff union!!! Kohler. Includes engines for John Deere (I'll never buy another product by them), Toro, and others.

>$1800 I would recommend a good quality US brand with a scroll compressor. A neighbor replaced his Lennox with a chinese piece of trash with a reciprocating compressor! Low efficiency. Noisy. The original didn't work right. Took his shadetree installer a month to figure out it was never going to work right he replaced it with another from the warehouse but still has a scroll compressor and low SEER. I can hardly hear my Lennox and have an average bill of $125 for an all electric home including water heating. And it's 16 years old. I could step up in efficiency again.

Long ago I flew to Atlanta for a long weekend in February. I left Dayton in the usual snow falling, deicing the plane, 2 inches on the ground. The next day in Atlanta they closed the Lennox Mall and a bunch of stuff never opened because everyone couldn't go anywhere. There was maybe 1/2 inch of crusty ice and snow mix covering half the road in spots. With all the accidents that had to be good for the car sales business and the auto repair shops! Even whitewater rafting wasn't popular then.

Huh? Say what? Ya gots to be kidding? Brady wouldn't have time to pick his nose... much less any time to be picking apart the Bears defense. When opposing teams get to Brady with a good pass rush is when the Patsies lose. The 86 Bears with Buddy Ryan, as D.C, had the best pass rush in the history of the game. Ain't no team come close to singing and performing a hit song like the "Super Bowl Shuffle" like the 86 Bears neither. You got to be kidding me. Walter Payton, might of made the team via special teams. Ditka, played in the weakest division in football so he had 8 walk in the park games. Jim McMahon, as I said would not of played football today as most of those older players. Roger Staubach, was the most over-rated QB in NFL history. The guy threw Hail Mary's to Bullet Bob Hayes, because anyone that ran a sub 5.1 40 yard time was considered fast back in those days. Look at Offensive Lines back then if you were 260 pounds you were considered huge. I respect the past players and they were good during their times but 2/3rds of them would not of played in todays game thus their is really no comparison. Mercury Morris, was getting stupid defensive today to think his team (72 Dolphins) would not be beat by the Patriots. No disrepect but it only goes to show me how out of touch with reality some of you older folks are. It would be like you guys saying Bill Russell, would beat Karl Malone, in basketball. I've heard that before. Mohammed Ali, beating Evander Holyfield, Tyson, Lennox Louis, or the Russian Twins in a boxing match. I just laugh !!!! Sure their is exceptions to the rule and not all the past athletes were bad. However in general such as Babe Ruth, doing what he did then today LOL. He would be Ked by Nolan Ryan or Roger Clemens. Now Ty Cobb, is oneofthose exceptions because he did what he did hitting a ball basically made of stone. ;) You mean like how the Patriots were lucky to win that snow bowl against the Raiders(?) on the fumble that was ruled not a fumble. And the luck the Patsies had in winning 3 Super Bowls by 3 points....2 on a last second field goals? Oh you are talking about the make-up call for the blatant pass interference ;) :P They couldn't help it they had the best clutch field goal kicker of all-time. :P Well, I'd like to argue about that too.... but just can't. Troy's a good color commentator as well. LOL, the guy is great isn't he. ;) :shades: My only wish is for a competitive Super Bowl, regardless who is in it. There will be growing pressure on the Patsies in the playoffs. They win the Super Bowl and I'd throw them into the small pot that are considered "greatest teams". Well winning 3 superbowls in 4 years certainly confirms Brady's teams in NFL history. The guy is a god. His coach is a god !!! This years team is obviously the best of em' all and unless their is some fluke loss they should go down as the greatest team ever !!! ;) But, I'd still throw an asterik on their winning streak and undefeated season. (had to throw some whining in there for my good buddy pf-flyer.) Why should their be asterisk. OMG, you are not trying to claim the spy video crappola ???? That is likesayingtheir should be a asterisk by Barry Bonds homeruns even though the guy has never pissed positive. I could go back and say stuff about the 72' dolphins or the 85 Bears and how juiced those guys were. How do I know Walter Payton or Jim Brown, didn't take Steroids. Teams have spyed on each other for years but the Pats, got caught. The bottom line is they got caught and kept on winning anyways many months ago. :P -Rocky

>if the dishwasher goes, hello Bosch. Good friends bought a Bosch dishwasher and he finds it noisy and lacking in lots of ways. He's getting rid of it. He buys appliances frequently and currently has a Kelvinator 3-door where the top doors open to a wide space. Loves it. No problems. New washer dryer latest feature from some company last year. No problem. The Maytag company was bought by Whirlpool recently and their quality should go back up. But Maytag had bought into the higher profit for management several years ago by using cheaper parts of something. My frig probably was nonunion in one of the areas where carmarkers, foreign, are locating new plants. The defroster failed 6 months ago. I troubleshot and found the thermostat that turns on when cold to enable defrost heating did not turn back on after it opens to turn off the defrost cycle. Replaced heater coil and defrost which are a unit instead of buying separate thermostat and cutting wires. Lately it seems to have a bad contact somewhere or defrost thermostat is not turning back on. Guess what the box for heater and thermostat probably say on the --Mexico. The timer was not the same timer as indicated by the circuit diagram for the unit nor is it the same as info on the internet indicated. It's a clock timer with 8-hour cycles instead of an electronic unit taht senses how much the doors have been open as well as time to determine when to defrost. BTW the Haier refrigerators from China ( do chinese buy Toyota appliances) seem to work. But neighbor replaced Lennox heat pump with a cheap Haier heat pump because his HVAC buddy doing the work on the side recommended. It lasted less than 60 days. After spending almost 8 hours troubleshooting the thing he ditched it and got an American brand made in USA. I'm still waiting for the advantage from using nonunion labor here in the cheap areas for labor where people don't know their rights. Think it might be the parts the company chose to use to build the Maytags? BTW Maytag quality should be back up. But the Maytag repairman never made a housecall here but they're not sitting in the shops anymore. But I'll bet the CEO'S and highly paid managers all took a nice golden parachute and retirement with them in the sales deal to Whirlpool. Wonder how the line workers managed? Oh, I forgot, they don't have any rights; just the CEO's and managers have rights.

>'d prefer to live in Atlanta than most cities in the North. I hate winter. I recall flying to Atlanta for President's Day weekend to visit friends and everything closed down because there had been snow flurries leaving a slight (.01 inch)coating of ice on spots on the roads. Lennox shopping center closed. No planning for city services.
