Did you go through Pierre on the way to ND, or up I29? Neither. I25 north to nearly Douglas, WY, and then all backroads, first E to Lusk, then due N on 85 to Hatford City, then due E to Minot. From Spearfish SD north its a great place to speed.

How about Subaru? I can see how the AWD would help when sporting around in the snow of the Black Hills. How is the big city ... Rapid City doing? New home projects under $250K? And Spearfish? I guess it just is not BMW country up there. And FWD Cadillac may be just the ticket for snow? When I drove through there it was in late April -- light snow falling in Deadwood. Will be interesting to see how the price holds on used Lucernes in years one and two aged. I am thinking somewhere around $18K to $20 for the V8 in about a couple years??? How will they compare as used cars to the Azera, by Hyundai? Seems like the race of the underdogs for resale value. Much rides now on GM not going into bankruptcy, and not having the UAW on strike. In what country is the Lucerne built? Same plant as Caddy? -Loren

The dealership was Spearfish Motors, the dealer I bought it from. I have been happy with their service, just that there has been way too much of it. It was TSB 18-018-05 and they just flashed the computer. The transmission had the torque converter, input shaft and pump replaced. They also put in an 8 row trans cooler, upgraded from the 6 row stock. The tech said that DC knows the original cooler isn't doing the job. Mine actually stuttered a few times this morning, due to the load on the driveline, the 4WD does not always like to disengage since they repaired the transmission. I am going to get underneath and try adjust the linkage. Mileage has gone up 10% since the trans repair. I think it is caused by the EGR opening up a little too much.
Picked mine up on 3/1 - odd headlight coverage

I picked-up my white Limited with the Ultimate package yesterday evening. On the way home, I had a chance to drive about 40 miles in the wrong direction on the freeway out of Rapid City (it's amazing what a first drive in YOUR new car will do to you). Being out in the middle of nowhere, I kept noticing something odd about the beam projected by the headlights. I've never driven a car where the illumination of the headlights just stops. I know they're projector beam halogen but I've never had a car with these type of lights before, so maybe it's normal. The coverage to the sides is more than I expected and the brights seem to go forever. FYI, I purchased the vehicle 4.5 % over invoice, no add-ons, no tricks, just a pleasant experience....love the car.
