Here in Chicago there are plenty of people who work in the loop (the downtown area of Chicago), the trains are pack to capacity bringing people to and from work. IIRC in 92 when Chicago had its flood close to a million people were evacuated from the office buildings downtown. The trains certainly aren't ideal. My MIL works in downtown Chicago and lives in Northwest Indiana. She car pools in with a coworker. The South Shore rail would add about an hour each way nearly doubling her commute time, plus she can park at her office. She would have to get off the train at Millenial Park and that's over a mile away from her office. Yeah, she could walk, but I know I wouldn't want to walk a mile to and from work every day in a suit, tie, plus carrying work related articles in my hand. Anyone who says not to many people work in the downtown loop area of Chicago have obviously never been there.
Bought TWO fits today at SouthShoreHonda in NY
by nursedaddy on Wed Oct 01 13:45:30 PDT 2008
Hi. Been wanting a Fit or two since last year, and waited for the '09. Walked into South Shore Honda today after checking their stock online. They happened to have an Orange sport, and a Tidewater blue base, both autos. After test driving a Civic LX and determining that it was just as wonderful and bland as the 1999 Civic we have, I opted to go with the car that made me smile. They let me test drive the Orange sport, and I was all grins. Sure it rides rougher than the Civic, and I could get a Civic for the same money, but I want a more utilitarian car that'll carry odd sized objects, fit in small spots, get great mileage, all the while feeling like a go-kart. So I bought both the Orange sport and Tidewater base automatic fits. Paid MSRP + tax and plates for each. Got the remote entry/security system thrown in on the blue base model. Settled for 5.49% financing for 60 months each. 10G's down (5 each) total payment for both cars will be $511 month. The dealer now has no more Fits. I bought the only two they had, in colors I liked. I got lucky.

Jersey shore broke the $3.30 mark early this week. The cheap area hit $3.25 for Lukoil with a $3.26 Hess just south. In town here it's hovering about a dime higher. For a little bit about a week ago there was suddenly a spread of a quarter from the cheapest to the most expensive RUG. Usually it's maybe a dime.

Thanks,TT. I had been to both those sites (saw them in Hemming's). Inline has nothing listed, Classic does, although I have to call to see if it's right, since the listing is vague. By the way, the URL for SSBC is http://www.stainlesssteelbrakes.com/. SSBC.com gets you to the South Shore Baseball Club, which is a whole different matter. Did you do anything about the proportioning valve when you did your brakes? I'm tempted to follow your example. The new rotors and calipers are very pretty.
