Well, the easiest thing to try first is to clean out the throttle body. Take off the air inlet duct to the throttle body, and clean the inside with a good, name brand carburetor cleaner. The best is the "throttle body cleaner" they sell at the Toyota dealership, it has some type of built in lubricant that lubes the throttle plate when opening and closing. And, it's only about a dollar more than the stuff they sell at the regular auto parts store. While cleaning it out, you'll want to put several shop rags below the throttle body to catch the dirt and cleaner that will surely spill out. Also, it will work better if you scrub it with an old toothbrush, too. Spray it, scrub it, spray it again... Also, know that you may have to reset your idle afterward. If that doesn't work, then there's a whole list of suspects... Idle Air Control Valve (if yours is an automatic) Cold start injector Cold start injector time switch Auxiliary Air Vale And possibly many others, just start with the basic stuff... clean it out.

My wife's 1994 Suburaban had a few probelems: Head gasket at 60K, alternator, 4 batteries because they could not diagnose the alternator problem. Just calculating the trade-in vale vs. original price, it cost us $.26/mile at 79,000 miles. My 1997 GP GTP cost about $23/mile net when traded at 77K. The water pump went at 33K miles. The key would not come out of the car when we left it at the dealer. This problem developed at 75K and I was not interested in investing the cash for the repair for a car that was going on 7 years old and worth $4,500, which I got on the trade. The dealer asked me for the key after we signed the papers and I let him know it was in the car and I could not get it out! Sorry! Both cars were well maintained and garaged every night. The GP gave me decent service but the cheapness killed me the entire time. I paid about $23K back in '97 and now this model is finally being put to rest! RIP! The 2003 Denali has been rought with problems and we are not happy with the quality. Again, garaged and well maintained but last GM people hauler we will own. I got tired of fixing 3 -4 year old cars because of real crappy parts that should last well over 50K miles under light duty. Real junk in my reality. I am not even close to the Lemko's of the world because I demand way better from the US manufacturers. I like to return junk very early! I think you made a great decision to leave the GM 'utes out of your buy decision. Good luck the the Explorer. Regards, OW

MY 08 avenger a/c will run for only 15 seconds before kicking off - a restart of engine and same happens again. Have changed the compressor, a/c line vale, sensor under the front bumper cover . Nothing helps, Anyone ever heard of this or have suggestions. No warranty on car since it has been repaired (recent accident)

the 335i is my second car with RFT. My first is my 99 vette which I still have. First--only lose air as the temp changes and by that I mean when we go from summer to winter type temp changes. Second--each mfg RFT handles differently, rides differently etc. ie--I found the Firestones to be better than OE Goodyears on ride, handling and quiet. Finally--I have driven cross country several times--got a sidewall bubble from a pothole on the interstate in New Mexico, it happens. and I got a flat late nite in Joplin Mo--what happened as I finished an all day run i added air as I was headed north te next day and expected cooler temps-in doing so--on on etire the air hose locked to the vale and broke the valve--the FRT allowed my to drive the 5 miles to the hotel and a local goodyear dealer put in a regular valve so I could continue the trip. That was probably 7-8 years ago so now more dealers have the equipment and knowledge to work with RFT's. But all you need is to be caught 1 time without a spare or not have the right air and sealent and you are in a heap of trouble!
