Great Sign and Drive lease in New England!!!
by dtorres94 on Mon Nov 17 12:37:59 PST 2008
I just leased a vehicle for a 2009 4dr GTI with Power Roof & 18" wheels with iPod adapter for $348.00 for 39\mo. with $0.00 down at SeaCoast VW in Portsmouth, NH(actually Greenland, NH). MSRP-$25,730, Purchase price $23,170 (OTD price including fees). All their cars are priced $1000 below invoice. Check out Don D'Orsay at the dealership if you are in the New England area. Great dealership!!! Lease payment would of been lower but i rolled over $1300 from payoff on trade.
CRV Differential - it's toast!
by chandlwc1 on Mon Sep 01 06:09:38 PDT 2008
I have a 2002 CRV that was having the real differential noise problem. Got the fluid changed and it didn't change much. Yesterday I was on the highway when there was a god awful metal on metal screaching noise along with the associated caustic smell. So, I assume the differential is toast. Any idea what it should cost to fix/replace this? Is Honda the only place to go for this? Thanks
Places that install remote starter kits in VA
by hokiemo on Sun Aug 31 21:00:16 PDT 2008
Does anyone know of a reputable mechanic or auto place in the Hampton Roads(Newport News, Hampton, Yorktown, Norfolk, Va Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, etc) area who installs remote starter kits? If I buy a remoter starter kit(aka bypass module) I won't be physically able to install it myself. I don't have the directions included with the kits so I don't know if your average shadetree mechanic can handle this or if it is best left to someone who works with car/audio installation and the like. I have tried Googling Passlock along with my area and only get hits on car dealers selling used cars who are touting the Passlock as a if it were a good thing instead of a nightmare. Thanks for any and all advice and information in advance to this post and my previous one where I posted before signing my name. Danny Moses Yorktown, VA 2002 Impala Security light came on while running for the first time today...and I know what is in my future and am trying to be proactive for once.
Re: Are prices in the used market [fezo]

What happened to the place in Rockport? I would have gobbled that one right up! It looked really nice (from the pics, I didn't go in person)--& was $80K more, more "rural" (not in-town), & had a septic system which I see as just a huge expensive problem sooner or later. Also--I spent so much time house-hunting in parts of Maine, Portsmouth NH, Brattleboro VT, & Newburyport (just to name a few), & really learning those areas well, that I finally just didn't have the willpower to start looking in different coastal areas like Rockport, Gloucester, Marblehead (MA), & not just look at properties, but really learn all the diff. neighborhoods, etc. I think others looking to re-locate for "retirement" may go thru some of this. just in the first week of getting mortgage, appraisal, inspection, etc. etc. (all of which is driving me nuts on certain days). Today, it's just the same. Every single thing is like pulling teeth, & the deadlines for all that are in a week or so--& I'm supposed to sign the P&S & put down $20K before I may find out if I have a mortgage committment (?), the way it's going. :( I wish I could go back to doing something sensible, like obsessing over whether to buy a new Mini, or a new 3-Series (wagon?). But thanks to all for the words of encouragement......!
MPG
by olemed on Thu Jun 19 06:03:16 PDT 2008
On a recent trip to Bar Harbor Maine from I averaged 34 mpg going up Route 1 (minimal stop and go, it was amazingly smooth for Sunday traffic); 30 mpg cruising around Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park (lots of hills and valleys) and 36 mpg coming home on I-95, going no more than 65 mph. The average was 33 mpg on the entire trip, very happy about that. This is the I-4 sedan. In April I went to Portsmouth, NH I averaged 38 mpg on that trip, all highway, going 55-65 mph. My tires are inflated to 40psi, car is empty of junk and that does help. Good mileage is possible in this car if your mindful of your driving style.
2001 Honda CR-V Trade In
by pzaimes on Wed May 07 08:15:19 PDT 2008
I have a 2001 Honda CR-V EX with 80K miles on it. The breaks are good and tires have plenty of tread. There's a small dent in the drivers side panel behind to the right of the backseat door. Otherwise, it has been maintained by the book. What can I expect to get for a trade-in in the Exeter/Portsmouth/Manchester, NH area? I am looking to trade it asap. Thank you.
