Ford is fixing the problem with no cost to the owner. We just had our out of warranty mountaineer fixed at Tasca Ford in Cranston, RI. You just have to pusue it.

When the trip meter is reading 600 miles and lite still hasn't come on and the computer says 46 mpg average, it's a nice feeling. I was a Toyota service manager for 16 years and the Prius was just the opposite. You always did worse than the computer said. Actually on the Prius with it's Bladder style gas tank it was almost impossible to take a true MPG reading and that came down from Toyota.
