...as every vehicle in the fleet at the Michaell household needs attention. The L300 is due for a scheduled LOF, which I'll do at the local Midas here in town. It just turned over 84,000 miles this past week, so I know some larger maintenance items are going to be due within the next year or so. On the drive to work this morning, my wife reported that the ION is showing a brake warning light. Not sure exactly what this represents, but it's only got 27,000 miles on it - can it be time to get the brakes done? (new pads and shoes, I suspect) This, too, will be addressed in town. The big issue is the wife's '08 VUE. We've noticed a red liquid puddling underneath it in the garage. Is this transmission or brake fluid? I've got an appointment with the dealer scheduled for Saturday on this one. As it's still under warranty, I'm not worried about the cost, just the aggravation of having to travel 45 minutes to the dealer for the service, then having to wait around for it to be done. When it rains, it pours. EDIT: nippon, what model of Saturn did she end up getting? I'm not sure you mentioned it in your earlier posts.

The Outlook (nay, the Vue) for GM has an Ion-ic Aura of rebirth. The Sky is the limit for the new GM. (ducking and running now)

It's certainly not unreasonable. Where are you at? I got my 09 Sport AT base for $17,144 OTD, including all taxes and fees. I'm in the DC area and the dealer is Castle Ford/Mazda/Mitsubishi.

Ditto. Nothing wrong with my '03 L-series (83K and counting) that I feel like spending $300-400 / month to get. Plus, now that I work from home, I really haven't put too many miles on it lately. In addition, I'm trying to pay down some of this debt I've accrued The good news is, only one more year of college for the daughter! On another note, I saw an article that stated that "New Chrysler" will not be responsible for any product liability issues for the 30+ million cars currently on the road that were sold by "Old Chrysler". While that doesn't impact me directly, I am wondering if Penske, in his purchase of Saturn from GM, would have the same stipulation in his deal. Does he assume any product liability, current and future?

I had the opportunity to drive past the two closed C-J-D dealers this weekend. The one in my home town was empty (though, to be fair, this location was a satellite lot - the main dealer is up in metro Denver, so I suspect that they moved their stock to that site). The one in the next closest town had quite a bit of new and used cars on the lot - makes me wonder if they were going to transfer their inventory to a dealer that is staying open. Didn't seem likely that they could sell their cars in just two days (can't sell cars in Colorado on Sundays).
