Re: 2009 Pilot EX-L RES Black/Grey [p1cfl01]

Good Numbers! In New York, well done. Sounds about right and very much do able for a dealer to sell at that price, as I paid $31,895 for the exact same Pilot, just up the road in Levittown.
Price from P.S. Honda Today on 09 EX-L RES

Not really a good price but kinda fair. I like to pay less. Stocked EX-L RES Black/Gray, no other extra add on. $32194.21 + Lic/Fee + Tax 1.9 and 3.9 finance along with this. I am still waiting on Mahwah, NJ and Honda City, Levittown both lower priced in this forum but not sure if they'll deliver. Will post once I hear from any of them.

Picked up the vehicle tonight, very pleased with the entire transaction, sale and dealership in a whole. Simple internet process and they agreed to the number I offered. I worked hard with Toni (the internet sales manager) at Honda City in Levittown. Once again, I walked away with a 2009 Pilot EX-L 4WD w/ RES for $31,895 destination included, no trade. No fees or any bs, just tax, reg & license. Good Luck. A few posts up I see someone getting an offer out of Jersey for the same vehicle for $30,900. Unsure how much lower these things will get, but I really wanted to stay local to keep up a good relationship for when it comes to service time.

In my part of country, AC in houses did not catch on with the masses until maybe the late 60's. Majority of houses had basements where one could go to cool off. Some even set up second kitchens and rec rooms in basement for summer use. I think that's pretty much how it was around these parts, too (DC suburbs). Around 1960, Levitt and Sons (of Levittown PA fame) broke ground for a huge housing development, and I think those places might have had central a/c standard. At least, everybody I've ever known that's lived in that community had central air. I think they used natural gas for heat. The condo I used to live in was built in 1973, and it had central air. My grandmother's uncle built the house I currently live in, which dates back to 1916. I have three window unit a/c's. I asked my grandmother how Uncle Luther and Aunt Carrie used to survive the heat of summer, and she said that they'd just pull the shades down and deal with it. I guess people must have been built tougher back in those days! As for my grandmother, her house was built in 1947, a cinder block cape cod. They always had one window unit on the main level, a big 220V thing that would do a pretty good job at cooling the main level. Never did have any a/c upstairs. When I lived over there with them, my bedroom was upstairs, and would get hotter than hades. In the worst days of summer, I'd usually just sleep downstairs on the couch! My uncle lives with her now, and sleeps upstairs, but he has a window unit. I dunno how they dealt with it in the old days, but Granddad was a farmer, so I guess he was used to the heat!
Just bought HCH w/Nav on Long Island
by orangemoose on Wed Jul 02 18:28:51 PDT 2008
This past weekend on Jun 28, we took a gamble and went to Honda City in Levittown, NY. They happened to have one HCH w/Nav that came on on Friday. They said the customer refused to take delivery because he didn't like the color. I figure, that as long as the car gets over 40MPG, the color is GREEN! They were anxious to get the car off their lot by June 30, so I got it for $24,500, and drive home on Mon. June 30. I got the 2.9% Honda financing for 60 months, and still qualify for the $1050 federal tax credit. I politely declined the extended warranty, and they didn't push hard to take it. I own a trouble free 2004 HCH and have had several Hondas over the years. The new 2008 HCH drives exactly the way a Honda CIvic should ride - it handles and rides like a perfect car! It is great fun to drive. Also, the dealer was actually pleasant to deal with.
Re: Money Factor and residuals for NJ [jton]

Look at message #275 that I had posted earlier... I have pasted it below.... I live in Jersey as well, but didn't mind taking a 45 min. train ride to Levittown PA, right outside of Trenton, and picked up my deal, as listed below.... PA has the same MFs as Jersey, but a smaller doc fee and tire tax... something to think about.. the doc fee alone can be a savings of approx $200...... ********************************************************************************- ************** Guys and Gals.... I had a great buying experience at Team Toyota of Langhorne PA. 08 LE Automatic, With Alloys, JBL Sound System w/Bluetooth, Moonroof and Preferred Accessory Package MSRP: 24,431 INVOICE: 21,800 Purchase Price: 21,500. Dealer also agreed to a 61% residual and a money factor of .0005!!!!(Thats nothing!!!) Rolled all the fees into the lease: Acq: 550 3 Years Registration: 230 (New Jersey) Title: 40(NJ Title Fee With Up to 2 Leins on the Title) Doc: 45(Pennsylvania Doc Fee Capped at 45) Tires: 5 (Pennsylvania Tire Tax) Tax: 641(7% of total depriciation) Montly Payment Came out to 271. Nothing out of my pocket. Walked away(Actually drove away) with the car for 271/month. I am going to add the side skirts and bumper lips myself and mod the exhaust to dual and this LE will look better than a Silver SE. It already sounds better due to the JBL.
