Re: MPV doors freezing [sramamur1]

I live in MN and did not notice this problem driving a 2002 MPV through a couple of winters, including one real cold one. What I do with all my cars is, each fall, apply a silicone lubricant (Armor All or the like) liberally to all gaskets with a cloth, and spray something like WD-40 into all locks. Of course, if you have something like an ice storm, even that won't help you much.

same deal they replaced the window motor in mine, stopped the window from dropping but still squeaks, try the silicon spray, best bet is put the glad wrap in the window channel :lemon:

same problem, acura couldn't diagnose, 2 fix's ---- spray liquid wrench silicone spray in the window channel , raise the window, when you get sick of doing that, take about 2 feet of glad wrap, roll it into a tube around a 1/4 inch thick, put it in the window channel, shut the window, creak all gone, just dont open the window , 45K for a car what would you expect.

take a serious look at the hood release grommet while running water across the top of the car.( with the kick plate off and the carpet pulled back to see). same on the right side there could be other issues. do you see the water dripping on the right side or is it just wet?. suggest you use a hose without a spray end and let the water flow over the windshield towards the side you are checking.

well -- the first thing that I would do is to have someone sit in the passenger seat and with all windows / doors closed observe when you hit the car with a hose -- spray along the front cowling, door seal and window for a few min to see if there is a sign of where the leak is coming from also just a thought -- have you noticed if the water is sweet smelling ???? this is a sign of coolant leakage -- just a thought and hope this helps a tad! did you manually unlock the door from the drivers side?..this is how you reset the factory alarm system.. -also,my -97,witch i just rescued from a body shop where it sat for two years, had the auto lights, and the instrument lights were controlled by the slide switch next to the headlight switch..i took wd-40,with the straw attached, and gave the slide switch a two secound spray, then worked the switch several times,as this cleaned the contacts inside...it seems to have addressed the problem!!..worth a try!.. :)
