but I saw the new 2009 Dodge Challenger yesterday. Didn't even know they were out yet :P I took a 3-day trip to the coast and there was one parked at the Tillamook County Smoker. Also, nothing special, but i saw at least 20 of the new 2009 Hyundai Sonatas. Saw maybe 2-3 of the new Accords and Malibus, but seemed like there was one after another of the new Sonatas. How well are these things selling?

I will keep coming back to this room every couple of weeks eagle.. I joined Edmunds back in late 1997 after I bought my 98 Ranger. People like allknowing, know me as Vince8 as do other Tacoma boys. After being told over and over by "the Toyota crowd that my Ranger was going to "fall apart", "junk", "unreliable" I have proven every Toyota fan wrong, and am a Toyota fans worst nightmare. A Ford Ranger owner with 70,000 trouble free miles. I also have use my Ranger 4x4 in the Cascade Mountains, deserts of Eastern/Central Oregon to MT St. Helens, Tillamook Forest, coast Range of Oregon. My Ranger has proven every bit as capable, reliable, and able as any Toyota Tacoma... Stop and take a look around you someday. You will see many Ford Rangers on the road in many variations/years ect.. Plut.. Ground clearance is a topic that has been hashed here over and over again. Toyota measures its ground clearance from the highest point.. not the lowest..

Didn't want to get into this in this topic but here goes.. I have been through all this over in the TAcoma vs Ranger room years ago. First off the Tacoma did NOT offer a LSD until just last years model. Go to the Tacoma site and ask them over there. Second, you are preaching to someone who has almost 20 years of offroad experience under his belt. I live in the NW region. I vist MT Hood, MT St Helens, Tillamook National Forest, Three Sisters areas. Toyota measures its ground clearance from the highest point, Ford does not, go ask your Tacoma boys in the Ranger Tacoma room. Another point is the Tacoma has larger tires stock. I have a LT265 with 16" rims, stand my truck side by side with my friends Tacoma TRD and he has maybe 1/4" advantage. Lockers, no duh that lockers are better for offroading, I never said they weren't. But, lockers only work in straight away acceleration. Read the Tacoma book, and see that you are not to engage the locker over 10mph! A locker does not help you tow, pull, haul anything. Without the locker engaged the rear axle is OPEN! Do you know what this means?? ONE wheel turns. Tacoma TRD is for most an image machine. Beings over 90% of 4x4's don't even see gravel, its useless. Ranger with is LSD is more useful to the everyday truck user. Go recheck your crashtest in 98 the RAnger is better. Why is your 4-runner so weak? Let us know your HP/Torque ratings and the weight of your vehicle?

You call that offroading!!??? Please man, this makes you an expert?? let me tell you where I offroad with my ford Ranger! I live in Oregon, I offroad in the MT Hood national Forest, Tillamook national forest to the deserts of Eastern/Central Oregon/washington, MT St Helens!! My Ranger has done just fine. 75 percent of offroading is the drivers ability. You are wrong on the ground clearance. Edmunds is wrong, they quote 7.8 the ground clearance for the Escape isa actually 8.7". Motor Trend has it at 10"?? How they got that is wrong. Seeing your pics, now I see why you feel the V6 in your 4-runner is adequate, you don't climb inclines, you do bumps and pebbles! LOL!!!
