Re: 2011 CHEVY EQUINOX NIGHTMARE [katph062000] by gfrustrated on Fri Feb 10 14:11:09 PST 2012

Re: Steering Noise - It's gone!!! They replaced the Electric Motor and Gear, now it works just like it is supposed to, QUIET!!! Don't let your dealer or GM give you the run-a-round!! Had it fixed at Capitol Chevrolet in Salem, Oregon. They did a fantastic job, found the problem in 30 minutes and ordered the parts. The part number for the Motor and Gear is, 20857570.

Re: Hyundai transmission [alexkprojt] by sisterc on Fri Feb 10 10:26:33 PST 2012

alex alex alex.... all is good my freind... maybe you are dealing with a D-Bag of a dealership.... To tell you the truth, when I bought my Sonota the dealership couldnt wait to get me into it, bent over backwards to take care of me...comes to find out they were going bankrupt and needed to get rid of their inventory... so be it... the dealershio that bought them out was Larry H Miller here in Oregon....they rock, took great care of me, and covered the issues I had under warrnty..they even washed and vaccummed out the car. I gotta say I had a great experience with them. Car is working great now..no more transmission slams !

Water in the airfilter by mustlovedogs on Thu Feb 09 12:13:17 PST 2012

I have a 2001 Sante Fe and have had an issue of water getting into the airfilter - have had it looked at by several mechanics, no holes in the hose.. a lot of head scratching, no one's seen that before in this car - even at the dealership they didn't know how to explain how it happens - thier response to my ? "how does that happen if there is no hole in the hose?" was "driving in puddles.." - WHAT? I live in OREGON - we drive around in puddles and rain regularly, are there other owners of this car having the same issue - not that they've heard.. their solution, was to take the hose off the filter housing - saying it's perfectly safe, however I'd like to know if anyone else has had that problem and what theyre solutoin was, I coudln't believe a dealership couldn't figure it out - I also had a problem with it dying every time I went to get gas - spent several hundred dollars to get a new fuel tank put in - only to have it continue - again more head scratching at the dealership - read something here and found a $42 part, had it put in and it no longer dies at the gas station! Grief.. love this car, but seriously considering trading it in - after 10yrs, it may be time to do that anyway..

Warming trend = continuing by larsb on Thu Feb 09 06:11:26 PST 2012

At least we are warm in the USA - except those sad sacks who gotta live in Alaska... Warming still going... U.S. Climate Highlights -- Winter to Date (December 2011-January 2012) The first two months of the winter season, December and January, have been much warmer than average for the contiguous United States. The two-month period was the fourth warmest on record with an average temperature 3.8 degrees F above average. Much of the warmth was anchored across the northern and eastern United States. Minnesota was record warm for the period, with an average temperature 10.1 degrees F above average. A total of twenty-two states from Montana to Maine had December-January temperatures ranking among their ten warmest. Despite a large winter storm which impacted the western U.S. during January, much of the region was drier than average. California had its fourth driest December-January period, and Montana had its sixth. Wetter-than-average conditions were observed in a string of states from New Mexico to New York, with Texas having its eleventh wettest two-month period. U.S. Climate Highlights -- Last 12 months (February 2011-January 2012) The 12-month period, ending in January, was the sixth warmest such period for the contiguous United States, with warmer-than-average temperatures dominating the eastern two-thirds of the nation. Seven states -- Delaware, New Jersey, North Carolina, Maryland, Rhode Island, Texas, and Virginia -- were record warm for the period, while an additional 18 states had 12-month temperatures ranking among their ten warmest. Oregon and Washington were the only states with below-average temperatures during the period. The nationally-averaged precipitation total for the 12-month period was near average, masking regional extremes. The Ohio Valley and Northeast were record wet for the period, with seven states within those regions also being record wet. Dry conditions were present along the southern tier of the nation from New Mexico to South Carolina.

Re: Vibration after 6 mo and 4000 miles! [kyrider] by freddieb80 on Mon Feb 06 23:49:14 PST 2012

I've been experiencing this same problem recently and I'm really starting to get fed up with it. I've now had my car in the shop at the dealership 3 times to have the problem "fixed" and each time I leave with the shaking in the steering wheel worse than it was before I dropped it off. I bought my 2011 Accord Coupe because I'd had 2 Accord Coupes previously (1992 and 2007 V6) and they were both great cars and I never had a single problem with either of them. At around 6,000 miles I started noticing a slight shaking in the steering wheel when I'd go above 55 mph. When it first started I thought of all the possible minor things that could be causing it such as incorrect tire pressure or the tires being unbalanced. When I had the oil changed again at 10K miles I told them of the problem and when I picked my car up the mechanic told me that the tires did need balancing and that they'd road tested my car after balancing them and said it was fixed. Not even close. My car now has 11K miles on it, has been in the shop 3 times to date and is being dropped off again in 4 days and the shaking has gotten worse to the point that it's now affecting how the car drives (I can feel the entire front end of my car wobbling). Honda used to be the gold standard for affordable, reliable and stylish cars. Now it seems almost every day somebody has a new complaint about most of their product line.....mainly Accords though....and the new Civic is apparently garbage as well. In Oregon we have a Lemon Law and if Honda doesn't remedy the problem with my car fast I WILL be contacting a lawyer how specializes in Lemon Law, I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and I will also contact the Consumer Protection Agency.
