You can go to White Castle and each can get their own hamburger. Watch it. I didn't start that White Castle thingy; that was 'snake'. :( Rectum rockets, sliders, grease bombs, roto-rotor in a box... But since we're on the subject, I never had those problems. Strong Constitution I guess. Yeah, like in 'Old Ironsides". I'd never let an itty bitty burger sit me down. :P jmonroe

Has your check engine light come on? Since it is still under warranty I would request Toyota to check valve clearance.

Thanks Woody. This is very interesting because my '04 V6 Tacoma displays those exact symptoms, a little vibration at idle, esp. in drive; and missing on start ups. Could valves be out of adjustment from the factory? Your response is appreciated. thanks
Dashboard Rattles Solved (Mostly)
by ironside7 on Mon Feb 14 11:47:51 PST 2005
As a follow-up to my prior message no. 4310 (reproduced below)I finally got around to removing the wiper cowl on my 98 TLC and applying felt between the cowl retaining clips and the windshield, as illustrated in the links in 4310 (which were directed to a RAV4 fix for the same problem). While the process was slightly different for the TLC, the solution worked just as well. My cold temperature-related rattles are about 95% gone. If anyone wants more detail on the process, I'd be happy to respond to any follow up questions.   -Ironside   ____________Message 4310_____________________   I have a 98 TLC and have been living with the temperature-dependent rattle noise for two years now, but the recent messages on this topic have motivated me to find an answer. In researching this issue on other Toyota boards, it appears that the RAV4 is well known as having precisely the same type of rattle noise that many of us have been experiencing (there was even a TSB issued). Apparently, the noise on the RAV4s is caused by certain structures associated with the wiper cowl contacting the windshield. The links below have a nice description of the problem/fix (with pictures). Hopefully, the fix isn't much different for the TLC. I'm trying it this weekend and will post the results here.    http://members.tripod.com/ri_rav4/rattle.htm        http://members.tripod.com/ri_rav4/rattle_tsb.htm        -Ironside

Re: Dashboard/Buzz [mark2 #3724]

Mark: I have not yet been able to fix or diagnose the dashboard buzzing. I'm currently trying to build up enough courage to start ripping apart the dash to find out what is causing it. My current plan is to try and first remove the instrument cluster to see if I can visualize the source of the noise that way. I'll let you know whatever I find out. Please do the same. Ironside
