White wall turn off....
by jgaffney1 on Wed Dec 26 12:06:30 PST 2007
OK....I agree the white wall thing that brogan does is a turn off on a CTS but.......just dont buy them!! Those are "add on" old man wheels that really belong on the DTS and larger caddy's.......but to say that you cant see beyond that and appreciate what they have done to this 08 model really befuddles me....I too believe you probably wanted a rice burner. To each his own...enjoy the rice burner.
Depressing View Day Before Christmas

I was out today with the family to test out the seating of cars that I am considering for my next purchase. We went to see an Infiniti G35X Sport; Cadillac CTS; and Acura TL-S. I visited the Brogan dealership in NJ, but it was closed today. Regardless, what I saw completely turned me off from the CTS. Before the '08 CTS came out, I never thought that I would consider a Caddy. When it came out, I said that I would consider a Caddy after all. The dealer had 2 CTS with ugly whitewalls on them and it completely disgusted me and I said "No Way" do I want to be associated with a vehicle that can look like that. Like for many others, the CTS was a beautiful car in my mind, until I saw what bad taste people can have. Dear GM, Sorry, but you lost me again. You can thank the dealership for dressing up the car so poorly. I doubt that anyone who is young enough to be on Edmunds would dress their car up so UGLY, unless they are into Rap. But, I do wish everyone the best with their CTS. I just can't stomach what I saw. Happy Holidays!
Re: Vanishing Subaru Crew? [tsy]

Still here, still have my '04 F-XT (which only has 23.5k miles on it). Brooke turned 6 in May and starts 1st grade in Sept., Brogan turned 4 in June and is in "Big Bear" (2nd year) preschool. I spend a lot of time moderating MPVClub.com and trying to keep up with the billions and billions of threads in the Subaru Crew. I've been a silent lurker reading the '08 WRX posts too. -Brian

Congrats to you and Jennie and both your familes, I'm sure the Grandparents are excited (and can't wait to spoil her!). You'll get use to the (lack of) sleep and then before you know it they're walking, talking, taking the car, and graduating. Brooke is going to be 6 in May, Brogan will be 4 in June. It goes by quick even though some of those early nights seem to last forever when your baby is awake. -Brian
Owners File Class-Action Suit Against Toyota, Tire Maker

Run Flat Tires Wear Quicker, Cost More Than Regular Tires Owners File Class-Action Suit Against Toyota, Tire Maker UPDATED: 5:53 pm EST December 15, 2005 CLEVELAND -- A popular new tire that is becoming standard on a growing number of cars is generating hundreds of complaints. Many drivers say it has a flaw, and when they try to replace it they run into another problem, reported 5 On Your Side's John Matarese. The new type of tire is supposed to never go flat. If you run over a nail, you can drive all the way home. However, many owners of these tires are unhappy. Tom Lehn says the tires are the worst feature on his new Toyota Sienna minivan. "You can see it's worn all over, but especially at the edges. It's wearing faster than expected," said Lehn. Lehn bought the run flat tires to keep his wife and kids safe, so they wouldn't be stranded by a flat. Then he learned that the tires can cost twice as much as a regular tire. "It was $275 for one tire," said Lehn. Tire shop owner Dan Brogan is not surprised by the high cost. He said run flats are costly to produce because of the special hardened rubber sidewalls they require, which allow them to keep going with no air. And that tougher rubber won't last as long. "You can't have everything. A tire that runs flat and lot of mileage out of it, you can't have both," said Brogan. But some car owners don't buy it, and have filed a class action lawsuit against Toyota and Dunlop tires. The suit claims Sienna minivan tires last only 10,000 to 20,000 miles, and have to be replaced annually at cost of $1,300 or more. Toyota and Dunlop won't comment on pending litigation, but Toyota dealers say the tires should last 30,000 miles in normal use. Despite their price, run flats can still be a good feature if you do a lot of interstate driving or commute through a rough part of town. That peace of mind might be worth $250. http://www.newsnet5.com/dontwasteyourmoney/5485329/detail.html

Congratulations & Best wishes Loosh & Kirsten! Doctor appointment this week I gather? We have an EvenFlo carrier and base that fits well in the Outback. Then once they were big enough, we had 2 Fisher Price Safe Embrace convertible seats. Keep in mind that when either seat is in rear-facing mode, it does take up some real-estate and you may need to creatively adjust the front seat to accomodate it. Glad I'll be able to 'stretch' my legs out again soon as Brogan will be one in June. Hey, that rhymed! As for being scared, you learn the ways of being a parent quickly. That first diaper change is a tricky one, but you get the hang of it in no time! 9/4 is our anniversary, if you're looking for a particular birthdate ;-) -Brian
