Re: Genesis: Excellent Vehicle, EXCEPTIONAL Lease [kanaka77]

:) Okay, simply for discussion, let's say what you have said is legitimate and you are indeed not a sales type or dealer or someone simply premoting the vehicle? Pray tell then, what does this and any other dealer do with a 'used' vehicle when it is returned to the dealership after having been 'used' and perhaps 'abused' over a couple of days and shows several hundred miles on its odometer? :confuse: As a customer, would you buy that vehicle even if it was exactly what you wanted as far as the colors and equipment are concerned or would you pass on it and demand a 'new' not 'used' vehicle instead. :surprise: It has been my experience that only the dealers who would do such a ridiculously risky thing are those dealers that were trying desperately to unload some hard to sell vehicles. As some examples, the Peugeot diesels or the MBZ 240Ds back in the seventies when you could not give them away. I caught holy h... when I brought back a brand new 240D with 175 miles on it. I got "What are we supposed to do with that car now?" I did not buy it, but bought another car from them that was the exact color I wanted. BTW, I lived in Westlake Village CA at that time, a rather high-end community even then, so there was no question that I should be qualified. Are the Genesises already in such high supply that some dealers are resorting to these tatics to unload these V6 models? Please field that question for us. :D

I just saw one of these wrapped up in its undercover testing body panels in Westlake Village, CA over the weekend. It was sitting next to a new X5. Looked to be about the same size overall and about the same ground clearance, only the X6 was much shorter.
X3 Mileage
by x3lemon on Thu Apr 03 08:37:45 PDT 2008
I'm considering getting another X3. I purchased one right after they came out and it was a lemon, but I'm hoping/guessing that some of the problems I had have been fixed. At the same time, could anyone tell what sort of mileage they're getting now, approx. for normal driving and for freeway driving, please.

I must say, I was very pleasantly surprised to find a very nice Volvo dealer. I live in Los Angeles and went to the Westlake Volvo Dealer. That said, I have an excellent mechanic that knows Volvos so I will take the car to him unless it is a warranty issue. Maybe talk with a couple of Dealers in your area and see how they respond?
X3 - Try it again?
by x3lemon on Sun Dec 23 12:31:15 PST 2007
I bought one of the original X3's - a 2.5 when they first came out. I had a 528i previously. It was a disaster. The main problem was the noise that came from body flex - creakin' like an old ship as well as the awesomely rough and hoppy ride. I dumped the X3 and got a 330i. My wife wants an X3 - do they have the body flex and hoopy ride fixed?. Thnx
What happened at Lexus??
by 62vetteefp on Thu Aug 09 10:56:43 PDT 2007
So the new RX in '04 did Lexus in. I am always amazed how trucks pull down the corporate scores throughout the industry. General Motors Corp.'s Buick jumped into a tie with Toyota Motor Corp.'s Lexus as the most-dependable auto brand in a study that showed a narrowing gap between the biggest U.S. and Japanese carmakers. Lexus's showing marked its 13th straight year atop J.D. Power & Associates' annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which tracks consumer complaints for three-year-old cars and trucks. Buick's leap from third place in 2006 gave GM three top-10 brands, along with Cadillac and the discontinued Oldsmobile. “Buick has continued to improve every year,” said Neal Oddes, J.D. Power's director of product research and vehicle quality studies. “From what I recall this is the best performance for General Motors' brands.” The study released today by Westlake Village, California-based J.D. Power focused on 2004 models. It found the number of complaints per 100 vehicles dropped to an average of 216 in the latest survey, from 227 last year. Buick and Lexus each had 145 problems per 100 vehicles. Buick's complaints slid from 153 in 2006, when it finished No. 3, while Lexus's rose from 136. Oddes said the increase in complaints for Lexus was due mainly to the 2004-model RX 330 sport-utility vehicle. “Generally, new models don't perform as well in the initial year,” he said in an interview. “I don't think we can say it's a slippage for Lexus. Lexus and Toyota have a wide variety of vehicles in the marketplace, and they are sustaining a very high level of quality.”
