Where in Long Island are you? I live in Nassau County and did the Long Island thing for a convertible but a particular color combination and wound up at White Plains with John Tutino (great guy). Tried Catena, Rallye, Smithtown, Lakeview, etc. and he was best and they have a lot of cars, which surprised me (but can't tell that online). Anyway, you should be able to knock several thousand off the sticker WITHOUT having to pay cap cost reduction in this market. My payments for the 2008 are $100 per month less than for my 2005 because rates are lower and they took more off the sticker for purposes of the cap cost. Find out what they are doing for you as the sale price on the car for purposes of the lease. You also need to know they money factor they are using and then make sure that's the current rate for someone of your credit quality. Also get residual percentage.

$4,000 out of pocket is too high number. As I understood you live in PA. I'm in NY and I think you can find much better deal in NY Metro dealerships. I noticed people paying cheaper here, don't know why. Try Prestige MB in NJ. also Lakeview MB in LI. I'll e-mail you my broker info.

Traded a 2006 Civic EX coupe w/ 23K miles for $14,500 [owed 12.7K] (loved the car - was too small). Got a Camry LE, auto, moonroof, alloys, rear lip spoiler and mats for $21,500 at Lakeview Toyota in Metairie. No hassles and I didn't shop or grind for a deal. I live in Covington but all of Northshore Toyota cars were "packed" with these crazy extra-miles things (splash guards, door trim, cargo nets with wax and scotchguard for 1K!). I'm sure that there are better deals for the grinders but I was happy and it was painless. If one can afford a 36-month note - 0% is awesome.

Thanks for links. I actually did not use Lemon Law, because my dealer, Lakeview Mercedes in Long Island, fixed the car and I got $1,400 check from MBUSA for inconvenience. So, after almost two months at the dealership my car finally fixed. I can highly recommend this dealership to anybody who is looking for a car or needs service. Service manager was very helpful thru all that time.

Yes, but you still have to be reasonably careful. However, it's far from the most desolate road in America, and I prefer several others. There are a couple of N-S roads in Nevada that have both fewer towns & less traffic. They aren't U.S. highways, though, and I think where the name was first coined -- the state & county roads are definitely emptier. Two of my personal favourites are state 140 between Lakeview, OR, and Winnemucca, NV. There's a bit of it on US95, but the rest is through the wide-open spaces. The other is NV266 & CA168 between Lida Junction, NV, (turn left at the whorehouse) and Big Pine, CA. Lots of good curves and undulating pavement on this one. You still have to pay attention -- shouldn't go ridiculous speeds when there's oncoming traffic, that sort of thing. If someone comes up behind you, slow down & let them pass. The good news is that these are rare occasions.

Hi. I have the same car and I leased it about 3 months ago from Long Island dealer - Lakeview Mercedes. Up to now no any problem, but mine has about 3K miles now. What is the name of the service center that pisses you off ?? Thanks.
