Correct on the Daimler and the Ferrari but the 'Vette is a '61, '62s had no chrome strip outlining the side coves.

How does the price of gas today impact your every day life? I try to consolidate trips and drive less where I can. We have not cut back on weekend trips or vacations. But I do drive a bit less during the week. Gas hasn't effected our budget, neither has it caused us to cut back in other areas. I did downsize my vehicle. Went from a Suburban to an Expedition. Okay, guess that's really not downsizing, as the shorter Expedition actually weighs more than a Suburban, but it does get about 2mpg better on the highway and when towing. The SUV market made replacing my worn out Suburban painless as I saved a ton of money on a used '07. We do keep our travel trailer at a seasonal campsite about an hour away which cuts down on how much we tow it. We do tow the boat back and forth as we use it at the lake where our trailer is on the weekends and occasionally at a local lake by our house during the week. Gas prices hasn't effected how much we use the boat, but we don't run all over the lake like we used to. We now tend to stay on the end of the lake near our campsite for our tubing and skiing. We'll anchor in nearby coves to soak in the sun, relax, and knock back a few beers. We've entertained the idea of moving up to a larger boat, but have put that on hold as ours being 21' with a fuel injected 305 is fairly economical. Probably will wait a few more years before upgrading, if at all. Gas goes up to much may go with a sailboat as I do enjoy sailing.

I bought a Diamond Gray 2.5i Limited in January at North Coast Subaru in Glen Cove. The only accessories were the armrest extension and the mirror/compass. If I recall, the MSRP was something like $25,403. I got the car for $22,900 -- including $1,000 cash back -- and was paid $8500 for my trade (about $500 more than people said it was worth on the "Real World Trade-in Values" forum on Edmunds). I got within $100 of that at Hassett in Wantagh (nice salespeople there), but in the end, I wanted a dealership that was much closer to my home. If you live on the North Shore, I highly recommend North Coast. It's not a fancy place, but they know your name when you walk in and they treat you like a Lexus dealer would. They did bargain hard and I was bouncing between the salesman and the owner over the phone for a couple days before we finally came together on a price. Last summer, we bought an Outback from them and have been pleased with that as well. I wanted a reasonably priced daily driver with all the amenities and great gas mileage. The Limited fits the bill. It's a pretty good driver. Highway mileage has been around 25.8, but in the normal stop and go winter driving here on Long Island, it's been closer to 21. I'm pretty impressed with the paint quality. It's almost as good as the paint job on my Porsche. People complain about the power, but 170hp is plenty for all kinds of LI driving and you can use the sport mode on the automatic if you need a little extra push. At my dealer, the first oil change is free and after that, it's only $32. The service manager greets you with a handshake and a smile instead of the usual grunts I've gotten at the premium dealerships. Dislikes? The front end is a little floaty in the wind around 65 and I might do some minor suspension mods to try and change that. The exhaust sound is kind of wimpy. The rear seating may be a little tight for some. In the cold, I notice a little buzz in the passenger side of the dash. Some of the upholstery around the rear center armrest could be sewn a little better. I'd prefer a four-year, 50K warranty. Beyond that, it's a great car. I wanted regular gas, good mileage, AWD, leather and other luxuries, a low price and a car I wouldn't be ashamed to be seen in. I also wasn't looking for another SUV like I traded. I did a lot of homework and this was the only vehicle that fit the bill. Plus, if you want to go green, you get the PZEV engine here in NY, which is as clean as some hybrids. I had e-mailed most of the other LI dealers on pricing and they came back with figures in the mid-$23K range without any further negotiating. If price is a real concern, you could always go some distance off the Island to, say, Fitzgerald Auto Mall in Maryland, where you can pick one up and drive it back for about $1,000 under what I paid. Hope this helps. It's a great value for the money.

Well, lucky me my compressor when out 3 days ago and I started the process rolling in getting honda to back me up on the $2500 estimate on the repair. This is IF the metal shavings did not get into the system. I was entering the freeway and I heard a loud noise coming from under the hood and I just thought it might be the compressor so I switched the air conditioning off and the noise when away. After checking here I took the CR-V into the dealer to confirm what I already knew. Then I contacted honda of America and started dealing with them. I got a case number very easily and got a call back in under 18 hours. Based on the mileage 90K they will cover 50% of the entire repair. I think this is fair based on the age and mileage. Can anyone suggest any other work on this car while they are in there working on the AC compressor. Anything related to the 110K main checkup ? that might save me money. Thanks and good luck they are coving this you just need to work on it.

-A ca. 1970 BMW 2002 in Golf Yellow, absolutely perfect paint and chrome, looked like it had about 14 miles on it. -A 1959-60 Corvette, top-down looking very sharp, red w cream cove insert. It's nearly impossible to tell a '59 from a '60 unless you're conversant w color combos.
Pollen

I just got back [last week] from Zehuantenao [spelling] and I got some kind of pollen allergy going, that knocked me out for the last day, and a half there, and then the following week at home [work] The craziest thing was, we got up one morning and we were watching the news. They said that the Mexican Navy was hunting sharks all that week, due to a rash of attacks. Walking the 10 yards to the beach from our cabana [tough life I know] we see 2 Mexican Navy battleships in our little cove.....hunting sharks. Other than that, and being sick, the week was fantastic.......
