[grbeck]: by gmctruck on Tue Nov 18 09:19:09 PST 2008; The government has to be very careful how much "help" they give to the once big 3 because there are other automakers manufacturing cars in the US now, unlike back when Chrysler got help from the government. It's not like Americans won't have cars to drive tomorrow if any of the big 3 go under. GM has the power to fix it's own problems and do what should have been done years ago by paring down it's product offerings to be more competitive. There will be some fallout, but it's time for GM to bite the bullet and do what it needs to do for survival instead of begging the government for a handout. GM must now adapt or die.

price-2008 Highlander Limited 4 wheel drive: by john278 on Tue Nov 18 09:17:00 PST 2008; Just bought a 2008 Highlander (last one) at Yokem Toyota in Shreveport, La. Options included Nav, heated seats, power rear door, auto rear air, tow pkg, XM receiver, extra mile option, vehicle shield pkg. List was 42,424.00, paid 35,741. otd. Very happy!

It's a new 08 but unfortunately AFAIK that's pretty much the last smoky granite UL in bay area. I've been hunting all over and I believe there's still a black on black somewhere in East Bay. The dealer just wouldn't give me much room on the price because of this. So far it's a great car; good power and very smooth when shifting. I also had a 05 ES 330 and it's a hugh improvement over the previous generation. I am very happy on this decision. :)

The clunking was heard mostly when I would move the car from park to drive and vice versa both always making me feel like it was the tranny. My mechanic who happens to be a Subi mechanic was the one that figured it out and sent it down to his mechanice who fixes Volvos. I found him in Sacramento CA, don't know if you are close or not, you could always give him a call. Let me know. It was such a cheap fix as opposed to a new tranny.

I do agree with you. It seems that Mazda, to keep up with their Zoom Zoom image, they're doing just that instead of following along with Toyota's blue print using DI and finding a good balance between power and gearing to offer great power and FE at the same time. One thing I will say about the new 6, it sure looks slick! :shades:

2010 Mazda3: by aviboy97 on Tue Nov 18 08:56:30 PST 2008; I got wind today that the 2010 Mazda3 i will be powered by the revised MZR 2.0L with an output of 150hp and 36mpg highway. I'm curious to see if this is true.
