Re: Is there a fuse for the Security Light? [lund3]
by lalania1970 on Thu May 29 13:46:17 PDT 2008
 By reading all these I can relate but my vehicle is an Oldsmobile Achieva. It starts and within 5 sec it dies. My automatic lights dont work, and not even my security light come on. But when I turn the light, radio, blinkers, windshield wipers on they all work. My car has been parked for almost 2 weeks now because I cant afford the 500 + mechanic bill, the Olds dealer here said I need a new ignition because the security system is in the ignition and this year and model didn't come with a remote entry. Does anyone know how to bypass this besides with the T-harness as I cant seem to find a part store that sells them. I would think there would just be a certain wire that I could disconnect. If anyone has any ideas let me know. I have tried keeping the key in so so many times and didn't work. Does it make a difference in reprogramming either you take off the positive cable or negative cable? As I have tried taking off the positive and it started once (even though it was still in safety lock out), but now I cant get it to do it again. THANKS

I own a 07 Dodge Ram 3500 6.7 I have not had any transmission trouble, however a around 5k miles the check engine light came on and the truck ran badly. I made it to the dealer in Washington and they found it to be the EGR valve needed replaced. They re programmed the computer and away we went. Yesterday the light came on again. Now in Coos Bay Or, We are staying about 2 miles from the dealership I took it in and they say its a oxygen sensor, they don't have the parts and it will be a couple of weeks before they can put them in and re program the computer. The truck has 6,900 miles on it .

I read the article also. Now you tell me what the purported conclustion means. Did you notice some of the criteria measured? Gas spent in assembly workers vehicles to get to work? Huh? Imagine driving to work... get a room in a company shack outside the main gate will ya. Has anyone ever heard of this person? Ahhh, he really is located in a fishing resort village on the coast of Oregon south of Coos Bay. Now there's a real hotbed of automotive knowledge. Do summary articles like this really help the two of you form your opinions? I'm shocked. I once had a study commissioned like this. It was by my son in a business case class as a senior in high school. His conclusion: we should all use mass transit. Seems obvious to me.
Off Road 4x4, Automatic
by salbeagle on Fri Mar 10 13:44:40 PST 2006
For any western Oregonians interested in purchasing a new Xterra, I just pulled off a really decent deal at Coos Bay Nissan. Model: 2006 Xtrerra Off Road (silver), 4WD with automatic transmission Options: Rockford Fosgate stereo upgrade, auto-dimming mirror w/compass, protection package, splash guards, carpeted floor mats, in-cabin microfilter Invoice: $27,125 Price Paid: $26,125 w/$1,000 rebate The car had 9 miles on it. As part of the deal, they also agreed to give me step rails at wholesale price ($330) with no labor charge for installation. This deal was worth the 175-mile drive for me. It's hard to imagine doing too much better, as I assume they made their profit on holdback (the vehicle had only been there two weeks) and any Nissan kickbacks for sales volume. On a side note, I traded my 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid in the deal (I hated that car), and received $27,000 for it—roughly $750 more than a Honda dealership can acquire a new 2006 one for from the manufacturer.
Amazing deals...few seen in Pacific NW

Some of you are doing quite well in negotiating deals. I purchased a EXL-RES for $31,800 inclusive of all car fees, still had to pay the registration fees to the state. No sales tax in Oregon. The deal happened Dec 21st. I felt some pressure to do a deal since my other car fell apart and I was borrowing a friend's car for a while. I could not find anyone who'd give me anything much than $500 off MSRP. I phoned most everyone in Portland, down to Yreka, up to Olympia, over to Coos Bay and Bend. Gresham Honda had a few in stock, did the best I could, I am envious of some of the deals back East. My deal came with VTR (vehicle theft registration), basically a dealer inspired extra insurance policy if the car is stolen...I felt a bit robbed myself. Also came with mug guards and a trunk liner. A few notes on the car, great pick up, have not noticed wind noise (perhaps because I drove a convertible for 13 years), no back problems at all as other people have rumored.   I wish you all well, it's a great vehicle, my first mini van.   Rob
