Well...it may not have the 30 GB hard drive built in like the Pioneer unit, but a deal this sweet is hard to pass up. If I were going nav, I would jump on this deal too. You will need to make sure you get a dash kit when you order the unit, a well as a wiring harness. As far as the sound...you'll definitely want to replace the factory speakers when you swap out the unit because the OEM speakers will distort much more quickly when you turn the volume up than with the OEM head unit. Reason being is the Pioneer unit has more power. There are options out there for you...all of the speakers are 2 ohm speakers except for the tweeters. I know for a fact that you can go with Infinity Kappa or Reference series, JBL GTO and Power series speakers as well. Here's a link to my page on Car Domain and you can see everythign I've done with my Azera to date... Allmet33's Car Domain Page As far as cracking the lock on the DVD mode, I don't condone it and you have to be aware that it can get you a ticket, but from my understanding it's all about bypassing a wire (grounding it) so that the unit thinks the car is in park.

I had the pleasure of taking out a s GT and an i GT (6 spd). I took the s GT first and was taken by the looks...really is a beautiful automobile. The interior had the all dark look; not my favorite but definitely well done and more pleasing than Altima and Accord. A huge back seat too...more room that I really need. Once underway I noticed that the steering felt a little too light, but the road feel and response was there...just wanted more heft to it. The surprising part was the power. My current auto has much more power but weighs more and is muted. The s easily broke the front tires and I even squealed into 2nd (manual mode). I was also able to break them loose in 1st once underway...say driving at 4K rpm --20mph then gunning it Not to give the impression that I drive this way all the time...or condone it, but it was just a lot of fun :) Last time I drove a car that broke the tires loose like that it was in a late 60's Challenger; and we spent $40 in gas for a couple hours of cruise time (and probably much more $'s for tires). The disappointing thing was the handling. Too much body roll and a too heavy front end. I took the car through an area here with very winding roads and elevation changes. I would say it was better than the Altima and on par with an Accord coupe (4cyl) I drove. Wasn't 'bad' but I was expecting a 'wow'. The i GT manual resulted in mixed emotions...I LOVED the 6spd but the power felt lacking (It could have been the perspective of first driving the V6 beast). The throws were about perfect, the shifter was the right size, the gear ratios were perfect. The clutch was a little light (who needs a hydraulic clutch anyway) but most are to me; the take up was nice and high on the pedal so after about 10 mins I was shifting perfectly with a tap to the clutch and a quick throw of the wrist. I enjoyed the handling better than the V6 and achieved better 'times' on the little road course I set up for my self (public roads of course). If the i 6spd had 50 more hp...or 300 or so less lbs it would have been an easy choice between the two.

I think your position regard car choices and driving habits could be summed up as a philosophy of sufficiency. Anything that exceeds that which is sufficient would be considered wasteful and bad. That is not necessarily a bad philosophy. Sufficiency could be considered virtuous, and it could be argued that we used to think of it that way. You are, however, countering a developed consumer culture that no longer highly regards sufficiency. While I don't condone wasting resources, I'm still going to do, what I what to do, when I want to, as long as I can afford it. I'm not going to skip a vacation with my kids, not use our boat or tow our camper, just to save gas. Sorry. I like my Expedition. It hauls the family and tows our toys. I use it and our toys the same regardless if gas is $2/gal or $5. If I drove hundreds of miles a week with just me in the SUV, I'd get a car if it made sense financially. So far, driving 50-100 miles M-F doesn't justify the extra expense of an additional car.

Only 1 page lists speed, and it shows that 31% of fatal accidents and 32% of fatalities are speeding related. Statistically those numbers are very low. If 90% of people speed, then if those people just got in the average number of accidents then I would suspect that 90% of the accidents and deaths could be listed as speed related. I guess that shows that that what the police reports on the accident-report is fairly supjective. If an accident occurs because a DUI was speeding, does that only get reported as speeding or only as DUI or both. You can see the issues. But anyway, speeding as in any accident report will include 1) people driving sanely but 10mph over the SL, 2) possibly DUI, 3) teens racing, 4) criminals fleeing and 5) other nitwits. We who are supporting raising the SL's, do not condone racing, fleeing the police, or driving recklessly. let me give you some examples of what we don't condone. A couple of years ago I posted an article where a woman w/o a license got a friend to rent an Explorer for her. She then proceeded to put 9 or 10 people in it (a 5 passenger vehicle), drive the unfamilar vehicle at 85-90 mph thru traffic swerving into the breakdown lane to pass ... when she crashed 7 or so were killed. And you get a bunch of these then that are stuck in the "speeding" data. You also have put in that data, all the kids around the nation who take out their 300hp dad's vehicle, drive 100mph in a 35mph-zone and rap the car around the tree. These are lumped in the speeding statistics. Then every week or so you can find news of a Suburban with 15 illegal immigrants in it that crashes while being chased. I bet these also might get lumped in the accident speeding data. This does not represent the fact that millions of people safely and sanely drive year after year on major roads, at speeds at least 10mph > the SL's. I have driven 32 years and never really obeyed the SL's, just like everyone else. I've never caused an accident. In all my life I've only been in a car with 1 or 2 people who actually drove the SL or less. Speeding is the norm.

haha, thats too bad? What kind of helpful reply is that? So, you condone breaking the law huh? That doesn't surprise me. You are in a Pontiac Sunfire forum and you have no helpful comments. Go to POGO and play some games, seems like thats the extent of your knowledge. What do you drive? If its not a Sunfire then why are you here? Your opinion is nothing less than 5th grade. Have a great week!
