I have taken 78 from Ramona to AZ a few times. I did not notice traffic out of the ordinary. I rarely drive 55 MPH. Even in the RV we had it was better than driving the Interstate. Our MB Cruiser RV was top heavy and the big semis flying by would give you a rock n roll thrill. One reason we sold it. I can tell you that traveling at 55 you need to get used to just pulling over and letting the traffic go by you. Most people are not willing to take an extra hour getting across CA or AZ. When you get to TX most of the roads are posted 75 MPH some 80 MPH. The courteous thing to do is just pull out when there is a wide spot. I'm not convinced you will get your best MPG in that diesel Excursion at 55 MPH with no trailer. With the trailer probably the best and safest speed. Have a fun safe journey and keep us posted on your experiences. What mileage are you getting so far in that Excursion?

Have you found out anymore information about the armrests? I also have the 03 g35 coupe and would like to install the armrests, or even a console that has cup holders in it.

Not a Toyota in the bunch. Just won't take the abuse I guess. Honda is well represented in ATV & motorcycles. Top twenty finishers in the race. The VWs were racing against some big time racing iron. Not for lightweight wienie trucks. 1. Larry Ragland, Cave Creek, Ariz./Brian Collins, Las Vegas, Chevy Silverado, 9 hours, 10 minutes, 58 seconds (46.20miles per hour) (SCORE Trophy-Truck) 2. I have several places I love to drive in the area. First: Hwy 78 from Ramona to Julian. Just down 78 a bit from Julian is the turnoff to S3 into Borrego Springs. Be sure and hike up to Palm Canyon while you are there. In the Spring the cactus are blooming and you will probably see Desert Bighorn Sheep. Off the same Hwy 78 is the intersection known as Santa Ysabel. Stop in a Dudley's bakery then onto Hwy 79. You will pass a very nice little mission on your trip to Warner Hot Springs. This is becoming a popular retirement area. They have a world class glider airfield with glider rides over the desert. This is the route I take on trips to Palm Springs. As a side trip from Hwy 79 take S22, it is a great winding road down to Borrego Springs. It is well marked on Hwy 79. A little passed Warner Springs is the turn-off to Hwy 371 at Aguanga. This is more wide open spaces with little civilization. It meets up with Hwy 74 that takes you down to the desert floor at Palm Desert in just a few miles. Great vistas with pull-outs to enjoy the view. I have had to wait for Bighorn Sheep to cross the road. These are great trips to try out that sport sedan. Just slow down going by any donut shops. :shades:
Re: RX330 15,000 Mile Service [sandiegotom]

I'm still surprised that a zip code would return no estimate - I stuck one in for Ramona and got a number (my wife is from SD so she's taken me to the boonies out in the county). You must be really be out there. The in-cabin filter on my Quest costs around $50 US. That's why I've never replaced mine in 100k - I just stuck some filter media from Ace Hardware in the filter housing. Btw, a recall campaign was announced this morning for the '04 RX 330's to fix the rear left-side passenger seatbelt buckle anchor. So there's another trip to the dealer you can look forward too. :-) Steve, Host
