Re: Vibration Issue Resolved [newsubifan]
by blackhonda1 on Thu Nov 13 17:15:10 PST 2008
I am glad to hear that someone has had a Happy Ending to this complete Nightmare! My issues with the vibration and shimmy is still on going. I just had the transmission, motor mounts and power steering pump replaced. Shimmy is still there just as before. This made my 25 visit and a total of 54 days that I have not had my van. I am curious what Honda Tech line will suggest now?? I do have to say the New Dealership that is servicing my van- Bartlesville Honda-- has provided excellent service each and every time I have been there. Now, for the dealership that the van was purchased-- Reddell Honda-- absolutely the worst service ever! The Service Mgr. at Bartlesville Honda has gone over and beyond to find a solution to my van shimmy issues. Still wanting Honda to replace/buy back van-- this has been a major issue to deal with over the past 18 months-- YES-- I did say 18 months! Best of luck to anyone that is experiencing the same issues as I have. :)

$1.83 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. WOW. For the record, Birmingham is averaging around $2.37 (per GasBuddy.com), which is actually ABOVE the national average. For as long as I can remember, gas here was always cheaper than average, until Hurricane Ike struck. It's actually $2.03 on the Gulf Coast of AL, where my parents live. They couldn't be happier with their big V6 Taurus (avg 25 MPG) haha. They almost went with a Versa. Sure, prices will go back up, but hopefully not for a little while. The Versa is still a big bargain at $11k.

If you are looking for leverage, my 08 EX dealer, Bartlesville Honda, has a LX-P listed for $21,668. His process fee is $99, no other add ons.

Dealer is Bartlesville Honda in NE Okla. Web site inventory shows 07/08 MSRP and sale prices. No auto sales tax here. We have 30 days to register and tag and pay a 3.something % state excise tax. And to trade in when dealers offer less than loan value on a clean, low mileage late model is not an option for me.

Just goes to show that science and politics are inexorably intertwined. And, not picking on any one Ph.D. here, but scientists aren't always the objective, unemotional seekers of truth that the public seems to think they are. So it does help to know if they were raised in Bartlesville and owe their education to Phillips or where their lab funding comes from. Toss out the name of a GW scientist and you can likely guess what her finding will be based on who's funding the study.

...the Honda dealer in Bartlesville (OK) enclosed their entire lot in a substantial indoor building because of a prior hail damage claim. I guess it all comes to a cost justification analysis. The only dealer around Boston that I know of that has it's inventory indoors is one of the Herb Chambers Mercedes dealerships close to Boston. It's basically a parking garage and it has a helipad on top for his commuter vehicle and a spot for his MacLaren. Not bad for a former copier salesperson from Hartford.
