short of borrowing the guys truck I don't know how i could verify the mileage. Yes his claim was that he was getting 20 or 21mpg before and now he gets 31. I may have been wrong on the year of the truck. it was a LUV. I know it was carburated not injected. the thing is he wasn't trying to sell me on it. I heard about him and looked him up.talked to him for quite a while and looked over the rig and what he had done to it. The fact that he is driving around in it doesn't prove the mileage but if he wasn't getting anything from it why keep using it? No I haven't done this simple thing to my car. You imply that if it were simple I would have already done it. Also ,I might ask, would it make a bit of difference to you if I had? My story would be no more credible than anyone elses here. For me ,although the device is very simple technology, it's not so simple to build and install. I plan to try it on my89 jeep comanche. However it is injected which is one of the variables I'm concerned with. That's why I'm here to find out all I can about this idea before i go any farther. I don't have the time to tinker with any such thing w/out having a pretty good plan of attack. Besides, I'd have to get off my duff and stop posting to forums to actually build one and try it. sounds like work! Anyway pf, I would have to say that your theory that it can't be true because someone would be making millions is really no better evidence. I've said it before, not everyone out there is a scammer. so something is going on worth looking into. I'd like to think this forum is open to anyone's ideas w/out so much scoffing as to drive honest folks away.

Crud, I never remember which names go with which years: Jeepster, Comanche, Gladiator, etc.
1990 Comanche Idle Problem
by comantzke on Wed Feb 06 23:59:54 PST 2008
I have a 1990 Jeep Comanche, so here's the issue. Before I break it down, this problem only happens when it's cold outside. I'm AZ so anything under low 50's is cold. Anyway, she starts fine and idles normal. Once the engine temp goes up, the idle goes up too. So once it's at normal temp the idle is around 2k and stays there. If I drive it for a while it might drop down and stay around 1500 but wont go any lower than that. When it starts warming up outside the problem goes away and it idles fine all the time. I change the IACV (idle air control valve) but didn't change a thing. Any suggestions?

I live in SE Wisconsin where AMC (and Nash and Rambler and Chrysler) is home. While I'm no expert on the various AMC's and Jeeps, I do recognize 'em fairly well. Your softball is the Jeep Scrambler, which was the pickup truck for the Jeep until the Comanche came out. I had an '87 Comanche if that matters. -Brian
Re: My 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee (L6 4.0 liter) keeps stalling [naxan90027]

I have a 1990 Jeep Comanche which was suffering from the same problem. Idled fine, ran on the highway but almost stalled every time off the line. After some farting around I found a damaged/melted EGR valve under the air intake just beside the exhaust manifold. It had fallen off earlier and melted against the manifold as it dangled. Luckily I have a parts Jeep in my lane way and just replaced the EGR. This fixed it right up. Because the EGR was malfunctioning I assume it was sending way too much exhaust gas back into the combustion chamber and destroying the reaction. Hope this helps...
Build It!!
by nmertz on Fri Feb 24 09:50:18 PST 2006
I stopped buying Jeeps in the late 80's. 1)Chrysler dropped the Jeep truck line; and 2)I never had a "warm fussy" about Chrysler in those days. Prior to that I owned a 79 J10, a 86 Grand Wagoneer, and a 87 Comanche. If DC builds this truck I just might revoke my anti-Chrysler vow. They lost a LOT of customers when they dropped the truck line. Some of us work for a living and a Wrangler just won't cut it.
