TRYING TO BUY SONATA LIMITED W/ NAVI
by stockmanjoe on Fri Sep 12 17:55:01 PDT 2008
Hello All: Just started to get serious about buying a 2009 Sonata Limited I4 with NAVI for about $2K under invoice. I am in Jacksonville, FL my experinece so far 1) Key Hyundai: called on phone very nice sale guy but he said there is no way to buy it for less than $200 ABOVE invoice - didn't even bother to get me in. 2) Orange Park Hyundai (where I bought my last one) got very indignant with me, said sales manager will call me back - he hasn't. 3) North Florida Hyundai said possibly $1200 to maybe $1500 below invoice, but did not have the color I want. I need to follow up with them. 4) St Augustine Hyundai said no more than $1,000 below invoice was possible. 5) Also contacted Doral Hyundai way down in Miami and they said they were happy to do $2,000 below invoice but it would have to be a car on their lot (no dealer trade). All these places have processing fees any where from 300 to 600 dollars. I usually get roped into buying at invoice but I am determined to do better this time! I'll let everyone know how it works out.
purchased 09 lancer ES auto
by steven39 on Mon Sep 01 09:53:43 PDT 2008
hi sandman,i purchased the lancer at william lehman mitsubishi in north miami beach, fla over this labor day weekend...i specificly waited till the 31st to make a deal knowing that the end of the month is always the best time to purchase a car...that coupled with their labor day weekend sale really made for one sweet car purchase...as i mentioned in my earlier post i paid 17,500.00 for the new 08 civic lx auto back in nov 07... lehman mitsubishi gave me 16,000.00 for the civic and sold me the lancer at just over invoice...not bad and this does prove that hondas really do hold there value although we did need a larger and safer car with the lancer...

I have the same concerns as you about customer service from the dealer. I have also been spoiled by my current dealer, in my case it is Cadillac. Their service has been great. Always providing loaner cars, calling with progress, friendly, etc. In July, I planned a trip from Miami to western North Carolina. We packed our car, got ready to leave, and then the car wouldn't start. I called the service manager at Cadillac and told him what happened. In 20 minutes he had a tech at my house. They installed a new battery. I got into my car and as I left on vacation I looked at my watch. It was only 30 minutes since I made the call. Now, I know if I get the Hyundai and that happens, I'm screwed. But Since GM doesn't want to lease anymore, I guess I am going to take my chances. I"ll just hope that I have no need for service. I've been to 2 Hyundai dealerships and both are terrible. Of course, my other concern is the resale value of the Genesis which is why I will only lease. I hope it is a good car and that it holds up over time, but at this point we just don't know. That is why I would only lease this at this time.
Going to the Dealer on Saturday!!!!
by nubgng on Thu Aug 21 18:03:43 PDT 2008
Hey everyone need your advice, I live in Miami and I am going to see the internet sales manager from a North Miami dealership. I was offered $30,990 for a CX-9 GT with GT assist, moonroof/Bose and Blind Spot Monitoring. He asked to meet with us this Saturday and I need to know if I should push to get it below $30K, preferably $29K. I don't know if this is unrealistic, but I sure am going to give it a try unless someone can point out another way to get this done. He's already come off the price about $7500, but I think he can go down just a bit more. He claims he's never lost a customer especially when it comes to price. NEED SOME SERIOUS ADVICE HERE!!! Any help is appreciated.

Older story - I guess this one is operational now: NYC-Atlantic City casino train startup delayed A SoCal casino train (light rail) proposal back in '02 was voted down. Aqua Caliente Tribe defends support of failed Proposition 51 I suspect a HST from NYC to Miami would be popular. Amtrak runs three trains a day back and forth as it is. The DC - Orlando Auto Train would probably be a lot more popular if it didn't take a 16 hours or so.
