Re: Versa - Real World Gas Mileage [pulgo]

Yeah I know I should slow down and the mileage would improve considerably.. I guess 75 is a little faster than I should go but out there on US 75 between Okmulgee and Tulsa most of them are traveling 80 or better..... I work with a guy that has a 2007 Versa hatchback........It is like mine but he has the automatic transmission....He consistantly gets 36 mpg. he drives at 65mph but his tachometer runs around 2200RPM at 65mph. I think it's weird that an Automatic gets better mileage that a manual ... I just wanted a car that was like the 97 Civic 1.6L 5 speed manual I dorve 75mph in it........A/C on everyday...even in the winter for the drying effect....stereo goin'.....lights on ......etc...and still got 36-37 mpg consistantly........drivin' on the same highway--gettin gas at the same gas station -- motor was a 1.6L and the versa is a 1.8L but I didn't think it would make that much difference......My wifes 08 Altima gets 32mpg..2.5L Dang me.....I shoulda kept that car.....278000 miles though.....stuff was gonna start happenin to it... The Nissan dealer is trying to tell me that it will get better mileage after 10,000 miles.......guess we'll see...... Thanks fer yer help

lol....I guess 75 is a little more than moderate but out there on US 75 between Okmulgee and Tulsa most of them are traveling 80 or better..... I think you are right about driving conditions and style and I probably do need to slow down and I think the mileage would improve considerably. 06 Civic EX Sedan, 5MT, w/Navi
by psy on Sun May 14 14:06:13 PDT 2006
Just a short update on our Civic. 11k miles on the odo. Its great!!! Took it on a trip out to PHX. Az. from Okmulgee, Ok. Logged 3400 miles on the trip and got 39 mpg ave. The trip out was a solid battle with head winds at 20 to 30 mph with 50 mph gust. While in PHX. we made a Grand Canyon run and a run to Mexico. We took the Civic over the 05 Accord EX Sedan we own and didnt regret it one bit. The Civic road manors where fantastic. We stayed very comphy. This was important and the Civic shined through. We drove straight out and back. We didnt spend a night on the road once. 17 hrs of driving and riding takes it toll on you. I did all the driving and did quite well on the marathon. The Navi freaked out once at Flagstaff, Az. Had to reset it. Also when we went to leave PHX. it didnt want to calc. the miles and time right. No squeaks or rattles at all. I cant think of anything truley negitive about the car. I was at a dealer in Tulsa yesterday looking at the FIT. My daughter may buy one. Salesman noticed the Civic. He had not seen a Navi, 5MT Sedan. Nor did he belive I paided 19,128.00 for it the thursday before christmas untill I showed him the sales contract. He was very upfront with the fact the car would be sold at his dealer for well above MSRP. So if your looking at buying a new Civic. They are good cars and can be bought right. They can be very fun cars to own. :) psy

We bought our 05 Accord EX sedan at Mark Roberts in Bartlesville. And will buy our Civic there also. I wouldnt buy Hondas if I had to buy them thru dealers like I read about here. I dont care how good the cars are. Theres not a car on the face of the earth worth MSRP or above!!! Buying a car at Mark Roberts is a pure joy to behold. And if your not a smart A$$ thinking your going to beat them at there own game. They will knock off even abit more for you. We got the advertised price on there website plus another $300 off. Wife and I both work in Tulsa and live in Okmulgee. Its well worth the drive to go to B'ville. The Tulsa dealers are THUGS. I cant wait untill all the Civics are out and on the lot. We will then test drive them all. And also test drive a 06 Accord LX se sedan. We will decide which car we want and then drive it home at a very fare price. We will be treated with respect and basicly have a good time. I wish I'd found them years ago. :)

alan1946 Ive heard good when it comes to purchasing in B'ville, Muskogee and Mcalster. I did buy my Ranger in Tulsa and thought I was getting a good deal at 15k. Okmulgee and Henryetta both wanted close to 17k. Then I saw the same rig in Ft. Smith for 13k. And the Ranger was a net deal. Ive learned my lesson. Dont swim with the sharks in Tulsa. I saw a white Limited with the windows blacked out today and chrome black wheels on it with black pin striping. Looked real nice!!! Just shuddered to think they might have as much as 40k in that ride if they bought it in Tulsa. For giggles I went to a 3m detail shop today and checked on pricing to do 3m tint job on a large sedan and a clip job on a clear bra. $1250.00 bucks. I need to change carrers. Im leaning more twords a Touring for the firmer ride. But it dosent come in the dark blue. No heated or ventlated seats. I know I will get on a two lane in Arkansas if I get a xls or limited and then be doing supension mods. Spoke with a buddy of mine today that is a past Tacoma 4x4 champ. Use to have factory support. He loves his wickedly modded trucks. But agrees Toyota dealers have well earned the nick name toyota stealers. Hes bought 3 Tacomas in the last 5 years, but refuses to buy his fourth cause of all there silly fees and also wants a avalon but has decided to find one used in 06. psy
