Its pretty much just as you are thinking, go in and see if the prosecutor will take a higher fine for no points. As fanshawe said, that's all they are after anyway. what do I do next? Just plea guilty to my speeding and pay it, receiving 2 points? Well, really, there is no "next." The prosecutor will offer up whatever it is he wants to offer up and you accept it. I guess there is always the option of saying no and going to trial. I'm sure someone has done that at some point. Anyway, here is your big problem. The 2 points from 2.5 years ago is off your license, but not your insurance. You've got another 6 months before that comes off. Is your insurance paid up for the next 6 months? If so, not a problem. If not, you could be in for a rude awakening come renewal time and you are showing a total of 4 points on your insurance.
