"... the yellow '47 (?) Buick Roadmaster convertible in the movie Rain Man." Not that anyone seemed to notice or care, but I looked up the Buick that Tom Cruise drove in the 1988 movie Rain Man, with Dustin Hoffman as passenger, and it was a '49 Roadmaster convertible. Is it just me, or was that really a beautiful classic car?

What car was as long and low and good looking as the art suggested? Y'know, that might be one reason a lot of people think those old cars were so big...because they look at that old brochure art, which makes the cars look a lot bigger and longer than they really are. I'm not sure how long a '64 Belvedere is overall. It was on a 116" wheelbase. I think the sedans and hardtops were about 202" long, wagons might have been a bit longer. 202" isn't much, though. I think my Intrepid is 204"! Even when they started using real pictures in their advertising, they'd still use little tricks like stretching out the car, or using small actors standing around. Like when VW used to put Dustin Hoffman in their ads to make their cars look big!
air lift air bags

i have a 99 ford f250 standard cab long bed .... im trying to install air lift brand air bags on it... the problem is where they are sopposed to mount the frame has an indentation.... it almost looks like the brackets need to be an inch longer... i checked with the manufacture and its thr right model for the truck.... any suggestions or a picture would be great... thanks dustin

Funny that you should comment about the older Alfa Spiders having better looks than the later ones from the '80s and '90s. There is just something about those 'Duettos' that oozes sex appeal and interest to the average onlooker. If you've ever seen the Dustin Hoffman movie The Graduate, you'll see why the car became a hit in the States. Although, a friend of mine back home owns a '93 Spider Veloce (the last year the car was made) and he thinks it's the greatest vehicle on the planet. He loves it to the point that he drives it much more than his other car, a '97 VW Passat. You must recall that the early to mid-90s were not some of VW's strongest years in this country- did you know that the company nearly pulled out of America in '93, due to the fact that they only sold 49,500 cars that year?

I got the Murrano from Bomarito Nissan in Florissant MO, 270 and Lindberg. Dustin was the internet salesman I worked with. There was a $500 cash off from Nissan during the Holiday weekend. Dustin gave me a quote of $1000 off dealer invoice on any Murano in the St. Louis area. I wanted a Black with Black leather. He did not have it but got it from Auffenburg Nissan in ILL. The other dealer I talked to was St. Charles Nissan. He gave me $750 off dealer Invoice, which like the other one, included the $500 offer from Nissan. Just remember, SUV's, Murano and other big cars are not selling because of the gas prices, so the dealers are really dealing on those. Joe K0BX

hey joe. im having a similar problem with the exception that neither my running lights or high beams work. im about to take a look at the wiring again and maby if i find out something i might be able to give you a hand with yours Dustin
