I think as I said have made my point very clear as to the domino effect the Big 3 collapse would have including healthcare jobs. The difference iluv, is Boeing didn't go belly up despite you losing your job pal, and it was democrats who pushed to save Boeing, despite people like McCain, who faught giving Boeing's, union folks contracts and gave them to McDonald Douglas, !!! Boeing, like General Motors, is an important industry not for just the jobs it provides but their demise is a national security issue and I have a feeling someday WWIII will break out and it will be companies like the Big 3 and Boeing, who will give us a fighting chance at victory while you work on doing your healthcare deal on us young guys who are doing the fighting !!!! ;) ;) ;) ;) "The Rock"

"ask why military hardware manufacturers or aircraft manufacturers in the US can still perform well in spite of everything. " Perhaps because the government is paying the bills for the military hardware and they buy from only US concerns? Notice also that Boeing is the last of US makers building commercial aircraft. Where is Douglas? McDonell?, General Dynamics? Hughes? All the commercial aircraft companies are combined into one, Boeing. And the only real competitor is a French based company. Supply and Demand and when there is only 2 suppliers and the demand is there you can charge what you need to.

I had the same problem, but coming from the C pillar on the passenger's side. At first my dealer told me that it needed shim plates. But when they put those in, they called me to say that it didn't take care of the problem. Eventually, a VW factory tech guy came to the dealer and worked out a solution. They installed a segment top bracket bolt and replaced the bots and nuts for the headliner. I don't hear the noise anymore. If your dealer has any questions, they should call Dominic at Douglas Motors in Summit, NJ (my service representative) and he should be able to fill him in on the details.

Greengirl, I purchased a 2008 Jeep Wrangler (4WD) Sahara edition with a six speed manual and the soft top. I have been very happy with the vehicle and the only problem(s) suffered thus far, was an unplugged connection for the rear windows and a broken wire on the Sirius satellite radio antenna. The dealer, Douglas Jeep in Venice, Florida took care of the problems immediately and loaned me a brand new loaded Jeep Liberty while repairs were made. Any vehicle, or for that matter, any item is only as good as the dealer standing behind it. I preached and lived that doctrine through 37 years in the mobile construction equipment industry. I am happy to hear that you are a "happy camper" because I am of the belief that working brakes are a boon to safe motoring. Bookitty
'07 Camry LE - Douglas Xtra-Trac II ??
by graffixx on Mon Sep 08 10:25:58 PDT 2008
This past weekend, we made a trip to visit a relative (150-mile 1-way). We stopped by a gas station on the way there and upon inspection of all tires, we saw a nail about 1/2 inch sticking out of the right back tire. We managed to make it to a local Walmart store where we purchased 2 brand new Douglas Xtra-Trac II (215/60/R16) tires and had them installed in the rear. They were the least expensive ($65/ea). The nail was about 3 inches long! Does anyone have any experience with these Douglas tires? I can't seem to find any reviews anywhere out there.
