Got behind the wheel. . .
by markcincinnati on Sun Aug 19 08:27:45 PDT 2007
Camargo Cadillac somehow ended up with three new CTS's, and ONE brochure. I pulled in, got behind the wheel, didn't have time to drive it, damn! CTS is very attractive, darn near beautiful. I configured two of them IDENTICALLY, as I would order it: 1. DI engine $48,240 2. "regular" engine $47,240. This is a no brainer. I picked BlackCherry, Cashmere leather, DI engine, AWD, Premium, Performance tire/wheel upgrade and a tick here and there on the option sheet. Zipped up to about $12K of options in no time. There are about 20 of them in the parking lot of the country club that adjoins my subdivision here in sub-urban Cincinnati -- alongside Mercedes, BMW's and last year's CTS-v's. Dealer training starts on Monday and the cars are completely approachable, not guarded -- so I have pretty much examined the testers in addition to the ones at the dealership. The interior "fit and finish" and the trout mouth front grill, reminds me of the C6 Audi A6's -- only chisled and square jawed rather than rounded. For the MSRP, the Cadillac would seem to be a winner. I'll say a little Bluetooth prayer since I can wait 8 months (longer if I keep the lease payments up after the contract end.)

Is this at Camargo? Maybe they can give you something from some other Joseph dealership (Audi, Porsche, Acura?). Or.. if you are strictly dealing with Cadillac people, maybe another GM division.. (Vette?). Just wondering... because I think the offer of a new Cadillac is about as good as it is going to get.. You might even ask the GM of the dealership what he would give you for it, before you even drive it off the lot.
Re: 06 Cadillac CTS - $37,500 (incl tax/title) - Going with 60 mth 0% financing [brad4]

It was Camargo Cadillace in Cincinnati, OH that at the time had 20+ 2006 CTSs. Last time I checked, they were down in the teens. As for the 2005 CTSs, it was Roberts Oldsmobile Cadillac in Beavercreek, OH that had numerous 2005s. Their prices are really high on the 2005s...about the same as you can get for the 2006s...but with the 07s now on the lot, I'm sure they would be more than happy to lower that price signicantly...JMO though. I couldn't get anywhere with Camargo in Cincy...dealing with the Infinity of Dayton dealership now on a G35 4 door coupe. GM just doesn't have another car that I really like...and no one seems to want to budge on a 2006 CTS...

Here's the rundown...was offered to me from Camargo Cadillace in Cincinnati, OH. MANUFACTURER'S SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE $ 31,970.00 Options installed by Manufacturer 3.6L V6 18" WHEEL PERFORMANCE PACKAGE: PERFORMANCE-TUNED SUSPENSION PERFORMANCE BRAKING SYSTEM 18" POLISHED 9-SPOKE WHEELS P225/50R18 W-RATED TIRES TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING STABILITRAK-STABILITY CONTROL LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL HIGH INTENSITY HEADLAMPS $ 2,285.00 3.6L V6 LUXURY PACKAGE: MEMORY SEAT ADJUSTER COMPASS IN ISRV MIRROR 10-WAY POWER SEATS W/ LUMBAR HEATED FRONT SEATS UNIVERSAL HOME REMOTE THEFT-DETERRENT ALARM SYSTEM $ 1,550.00 5-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION $ 1,200.00 CTS STANDARD PACKAGE NO CHARGE EXPRESS OPEN SUNROOF $ 1,200.00 BOSE MUSIC SYS. W/ 6 DISC IN-DASH CD CHANGER (REPLACES STD/OPT PKG RADIO) $ 1,000.00 TOTAL OPTIONS $ 7,235.00 TOTAL VEHICLE & OPTIONS $ 39,205.00 DESTINATION CHARGE $720.00 TOTAL VEHICLE PRICE*** $39,925.00 I was offered a price of $37,500 after tax and title. Tax is 7%. Therefore I was given a price of around $35,000 before any taxes/title. Edmunds TMV price was $37,117...so this cam in a little more than $2000 less than TMV. I have done no negotiating as of yet...just emailed them for a price on a particular VIN number. I plan on selling my 98 Pontiac Grand Prix myself...put the money in savings off of that and pay the monthly car payments from that until those funds run out. I plan on jumping on the 0% for 60 months as I would save an additional $700 going that route versus the $3k cash back on a 6% loan for 60 months. Also have $3200 earnings on my GM Card, plus an additional $750 on a Citibank Driver's Edge Card...for an additional $4000 off the $37500...bringing it down to almost $33,500 after tax/title. So far, things are looking good!! :shades:
