Our Canadian BMW warranty may be different than the US warranty. As Tagman says get the warranty in writing directly from your dealer.

With the Canadian dollar at around .95, I'm not sure why i'm paying that much more for a car here. Anyone know? Perhaps it's because the Canadian market is a rounding error in the big picture compared to the european and US car segment. Also, the igloo i live in can't park anything bigger than the TSX ;) My lease will be up in about 2.5 years, so I'll be looking to see what Acura brings out. Right now, I'm having a blast with the TSX, and just put the A-spec ebony finish rims on the car. I'm really loving the look of the new 3-series coupe and the audi A5. BMW will have to have a stong incentive with interest rates for me, just not paying 7.9% on any car. My TSX was at 2.9%. I'd like to see a TSX coupe that's lighter and smaller than the G37 come out. Great styling with the new G37. If the TSX goes more 'upscale', it would be interesting to see if they could create a car that offers the same price advantage and options of this TSX. I'd prefer a normally aspirated engine over the turbo, with an optional 4x drive. If they could keep the weight down (not sure that's possible with 4x drive), I'd like to see a 8000rpm red line. Keep the fun factor high, like this version and i'd consider it over a G37 coupe. I don't care for that huge dial on the G37 dash, and sitting in the new coupe, it felt like all the work was done modifying the lines of the outside, but the inside still felt cheaper than the exterior look of the car. I hope that exhaust sound changes on the G37. Anyone else like or dislike that exhaust sound on the G35?? My brother has an FX35, with that same buzzing sound.

The sticker on my 07 says 0% U.S. and Canadian parts. If you buy the Mobil-1 0-40 (as required by the owners manual) & the filter & take it to a Walmart & have them change the oil....the whole thing will cost less than $75-$80. The FSS (Oil life monitor) will easily let you go 7,500 miles. Considering we all used to change our oil every 3,000 miles.....the net increase in cost to maintain your Lifetime Powertrain Warranty isn't really that big a deal. Keep receipts! Nothing with an "SRT" designation gets the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. There is a dealership in Dallas I think that is dumping them for $17K off sticker (or more!!) right now.

Part of the outcome = smaller, more affordable cars from BMW... that would just be horrible, heh? Heh, you're beginning to sound Canadian. You may be correct but those cars may not have a BMW logo. BMW is developing a small car division distinct from BMW which will focus on green fuel misers. Today Honda is the best company to take advantage for the new demand of fuel misers with it manufacturing flexibility and product-line: Not only are its U.S. plants non-unionized, but all are also among the industry's most flexible. Honda's models are designed to use common parts as much as possible and to be assembled much the same way. Its heavily robotized production lines can switch from making any one model to another in five to 10 minutes, versus days or weeks at rivals' plants. This helps produce vehicles that are uniform in quality; they're often among the top performers in the reliability ratings done by Consumer Reports and J.D. Powers. And it has allowed Honda to quickly match swings in demand, as it did this year when sky-high gas prices slashed Pilot sales and boosted those of small cars. The company is also beginning a mini-new-product blitz. It just introduced a redesigned 2009 Fit subcompact, which has been flying off dealers' lots (but not fast enough to offset sales declines for other models). "This is the right car for the right time," says Dan Bonawitz, head of corporate planning and logistics at American Honda Motor. "It's small on the outside, big on the inside." BARRONS

Hi, I've bought a digital OBD2 code tester ((innova 3100) at Canadian tire for 200$. Today, i've run the machine doing the tests. NO CODES were either stored or retrieve. So what's up now? :confuse: Thank you for assistance! P.S. Knowing this, would it make any sense to keep the machine in the car so that the next time the problem occurs i could run the tests ON THE SPOT again OR it would be useless because no codes were obtained after testing it in the first place (not a code problem) I've saw that there were more sophitiscated devices (more expensive too!) that would also verified OEM enhanced & transmission codes, enhanced SAE diagnostics (J1979 &2190), view and record enhanced OBD2 live data , and Mode 6 -02 sensor testing / mode 9 VIN identification. All those last features are not part of the device i've bought. Is is worthwhile?

but does the UAW not plan on giving benefits to new hires either, will they(the new hires) not have the opportunity to negotiate in the future The older members of the UAW threw the new hires to the dogs. The old dudes were intent on keeping their standard of living and sacrificed the new hires. They could have compromised and taken some cuts. This is the primary reason the Big 3 would like to buy out the older workers. Older workers are also less productive in many positions that require a strong back and weak mind. Will the new hires be able to negotiate in the future? If the UAW compromises and there is a future. With Gettlefinger's position, it is doubtful the UAW will have much of a future. The uncompromising ignorance of the UAW brass has managed to lose over ONE MILLION jobs since 1979. Most were sent to Mexico and Canada. You cannot blame the Big 3 for trying to stay competitive. This last contract that screwed the new hires to protect the older people is not a new tactic for the UAW. In 1985 the union's Canadian division disaffiliated from the UAW over a dispute regarding negotiation tactics and formed the Canadian Auto Workers as an independent union. Specifically the Canadian division claimed they were being used to pressure the companies for extra benefits which went mostly to the American members.wiki So much for a Union that protects all members equally. In 37 years as an Alaska Teamster, I do not recall any bargaining unit contract that screwed the new hires to protect the older workers. Seniority is one thing. Graduated pay scales are common. The benefits should be equal for ALL members after the probationary period. Same goes for retirees. That is what Union means. One for all, all for one. The UAW is split now. That is not a Union. You can expect the new hires to be stabbing the older guys in the back.
