Just Scratched Car
by cate2008 on Sat Nov 15 16:48:58 PST 2008
I just hit a cement curb and scraped a foot long scrap along the side bottom edge of the car (which I guess is PLASTIC???, I can't tell what it is made of) and gouged the metal  wheel. I have a silver 2008 honda fit. Any advice as to how I can fix this expecially the wheel which I think is alloy but can't remember. Thanks for any help.

You have a lead foot but may not think so? hold gears too long? down shift too much? the gas you are using is trash? your car doesn't have sufficient time to warm up during the commute? you are in a hilly area? you have to hit many traffic lights? It's already cold where you are + hills + traffic lights? you brake too hard and have to accelerate more to get up to speed? you have a trunk full of cement? forgot to untie the dead Buck or Boar from your roof rack? Ah! You have a bicycle or kayak roof rack? you drive around with said bicycle, kayak, and dead wilflife on your roof rack through the snow, up hills, stopping at every traffic light and don't realize all four tires are punctured. :P
stuttering when I make hard turns like into parking spot
by toller on Mon Nov 03 15:11:03 PST 2008
Hi there, I just bought this 2002 legacy wagon standard. 110,00- kms original owner bought new tirwes. I now have 119,000 on it and noticed alot of difference in performance since 1st purchased 6 mos ago. Firstly, the engine is much louder than before, the radio sucks, and whenever I turn sharp into parking spots I hear a strange noise and feel vibration in the tires or wheels. My hubby thinks it's the AWD grabbing the cement??? It seems to be getting worse. Oh yeah, and my check engine light never goes off apparently its the fuel sensor?? HELP ANYONE???
Re: Tire problem doesn't seem to be happening with just Civic Hybrids [high
by paisan1 on Wed May 21 14:02:54 PDT 2008
i have just completed a road trip of 6,500 miles.the TSB was applied to my honda in Feb.the new tires i received from honda at no charge show only normal wear after this trip.i still feel a vibration, but seems to be associated with road surface and feel from regenerative braking more than alignment.car does not pull of road is flat.wind is still a problem, and cement roads with grooves move the car all over.my mileage on this trip was always around 38-40 mpg,but i was traveliong at 75-80 most of the time.i have given up on the 47-50 mpg...too much work.i also have found that shifting into "S" uses more of the engine as well as the electrics, and acceleration is much improved. i had a ball fooling with BMW's ,etc on the trip.i am sure they were surprised that my little Honda Hybrid would catch and pass them at 100 +.sure had fun.fun always trumps 50mpg....arthur
Re: Plethora of Mazda diesels we can't get in the USA [gagrice]

First of all, your statement "Well you can scratch Acura/Honda from the list. They failed the emissions test and have canceled their diesels for America." is based on a rumor from an anonymous blogger. When Honda announces it, it might then be true. And if true, then all it means is that Honda did not do the right engineering work to make the TSX clean enough. I don't want it here if it can't pass, and neither should you. I don't have to prove EPA innocent. You have to prove them GUILTY. I have presented evidence that they DO NOT oppose diesels, and I can find more too. September 24, 2008: EPA begins rolling out nearly $50 million in funding for clean diesel projects across the country, starting with $3.4 million in grants to help small trucking firms lower their fuel costs and carbon footprints through the use of innovative loans to purchase idling and emissions reduction technologies. If they HATE diesel so much, why spend money trying to clean it up? That $50 million would have gone a LONG WAY in BLOCKING diesel cars, huh? Here is one of your personal pet peeves, Gary. The EPA is involved in an effort to reduce the emissions of oceangoing vessels: Cleaning up Cargo Ship exhaust You have presented only your biased opinion, formed YEARS ago. An opinion that MIGHT have been true in the PAST, but as a reasonable person ( you are one, right? ) you can't just take an opinion and just cement it into your brain in the face of NEW developments which might change the playing field. You remind me of those prosecutors on some of those A&E true-crime programs who hold onto the belief that someone was guilty even after new evidence comes to light and they are exonerated. What a joke. I have changed my opinion many times on many issues in the last 4 years because I CONTINUALLY REVIEW NEW INFORMATION. I don't just grab onto an opinion and take it to my grave. Name me one thing you have re-evaluated lately which has caused you to change an opinion you had? Think about it Gary. Look outside yourself and then turn around and look inward and try to find out if you are truly not able to re-evaluate an opinion. It does not look like to me that you have that capacity.

That picture just cemented it for me; red jewel tintcoat for the '09 when I replace the Aurora. I prefer these wheels over the 18" you get with the V6 engine; just my preference, that's all. I have the '08 version of this pix in imperial blue. One of the posters above stated he thought the color was too dark. It's absolutely beautiful on my car when the car is clean and sparklin' in the sun! Last road trip in the '08, I got 33.5 mpg, at 2500 miles so far on the odo. I also have an '07 Malibu--LS version--not one option. Just got back from a weekend trip from Arlington, VA to Rehoboth Beach, DE. I set the DIC in my driveway before I left. It registered 40.2 mpg when I pulled in my driveway at the beach! That's at 11,000 miles on the odo. So, who needs a stinkin' hybrid??? ;)
