console insert and BFG ATs
by 99tj on Fri Jul 01 17:17:43 PDT 2005
Thanks for the console insert replies. John, When I bought my BFG AT's (31x10.5) were on sale for $108 a tire at Town Fair Tire in Southington (Queen St). The manager gave me around $100 credit for my GSA spare that had never touched the pavement. You may want to keep them in mind. -Dan

Congrats! If I see a Coastal Blue MPV with out of state plates I'll be sure to flag you down! :) My MPV is Silver and I have a Golden Retriever plate on the front. ;) Ok, let's see. If you like amusement parks there is Lake Compounce in Southington. Lot's of fun and easy to get to. If you are into a bit of history there is Historic Lock 12 in Cheshire. That wouldn't take too long to see. You could picnic and hike at Sleeping Giant State Park. That's one of our favorites. Museums? There is Peabody Museum in New Haven. Awesome! There is the Eli Whitney Museum which is also in New Haven. If none of that stuff strikes any interest let me know. Luckily CT is not very big so I could recommend some other stuff further up I-91. There is also the beach. Hammonassett is very nice. Happy Trails! :) Leslie
Mobil 1 prices
by thewolverine on Wed Jul 03 05:05:01 PDT 2002
Funny you should mention AutoZone. Went to the one in Southington CT yesterday - yes Mobil 1 for $4.99 each BUT WITHOUT THE SIXTH FREE. Instead it was $29.74 for 6 - a whopping savings of $.20. Yippee! FYI the Mobil 1 ATF I wanted was the exact same price. Now AutoZone used to price these around $26 a 6 pack - so it's not just Mobil's synth Oil going up - ATF too. Now I just paid 21.99 a case (i.e. $3.66 a bottle) at Costco - think I'll truck down and get some more if it's still there. BTW the VAN drives great so far with the new SL product - just did a 800 mile roundtrip to Syracuse in 90+ heat with 25 mpg while running the A/C. Heat gauge didn't budge. Does seem a tad slower to accelerate though. Lastly, as for board traffic - it always goes down in the summer - I see this with all the boards I scan (Bob's, Edmunds, Autotopia) as well as EBAY. After all, driving's fun but I'd rather be driving a Titleist!
