Re: Another OH CRD [allan_j]
by farmer52 on Thu May 18 17:39:26 PDT 2006
I am in Canton, OH. I have seen one other CRD in the Canton area only one time in April. I work on the east side of Cleveland and have never seen another CRD driving to and from the office. I do know of one that was at a dealer in Bedford Heights because I took it for a test drive before I ordered my CRD. I bought mine from Waikem in Massillon. Mine is the second one they have seen. The first one was a 2005 and they dealer traded it soon after taking delivery. They were concerned about the problems with the early ones. They were reluctant to order mine until they checked with some other dealers who said the problems were resolved. I am still thanking the man upstairs for my problem free 03/2006 CRD (3400 miles and counting - 28 mpg highway). :)
Delivery date for HAH
by jbeall on Wed Oct 27 20:28:53 PDT 2004
I have read in this discussion that the HAH will debut on Dec. 3. However, a salesman at the Honda dealership in Massillon, Ohio told me that they don't expect to get any HAH vehicles until February or March. Does anyone have any details about this? Is this debut scheduled for Dec. 3 nationwide at every dealer? Should I check other dealers in the area? Thanks for the information in advance.

Closure to #697 - Contented in Colorado
by pilotbuyer on Sat Mar 01 12:45:06 PST 2003
I posted in message #697 on January 21 that I had made a deal with Marc Douglas at Waikem Honda in Massillion, OH for a Pilot EX (cloth) at $900 over invoice plus a ~$25 title fee and a $50 documentary fee. I promised I would post my experiences again when I had taken delivery. I took delivery in Massillon on 2/21 as agreed. The car had been waiting for me for a couple of weeks until I could arrange my travel schedule to drop into Massillon. It was a pleasure to finally meet Marc. I did a brief inspection and a test drive. Then we closed the deal exactly as agreed over to phone, Marc went over the key features of the vehicle, and I headed West driving back to my home in Colorado. The shipping options I explored turned out not to be cost effective for me. My "off the lot" price was $27,767.77, ~$2,213 less than the best deal I could make in Colorado even if I was willing to wait 2 - 3 months for the car to show up. There were no unexpected dealings at all. The closing was straightforward and simple, just as we agreed by e-mail and phone...a real pleasure. Taxes will be paid when I register in Colorado. The drive home was a total of 1417 miles of pleasant freeway driving. I loved the way the Pilot handled and all the other excellent features I used on the drive. I stopped for a night in Des Moines, IA, 12 hours after leaving Massillon. The next day, I drove for another 10 hours to reach home. My average speed calculated out to 64.4 mpg including gas and food stops. I used a total of 70.069 gallons of gas for an overall efficiency of 20.2 mpg...not bad considering my average speed was significantly over 55 mph. I had several "Books-on-CD" and CDs of music with me, so it was a good chance to study and get caught up on my reading. I've had no problems at all with my Pilot, with the single exception that the Homelink system refuses to program for opening my garage door. I have reviewed the manual and Homelink web site in detail and found no information there that made any difference. I have sent an e-mail to Homelink describing the problem and asking for help. Many thanks again to dcwayne and atalalay for posting their experiences.
Ordered out of state...so far, so good
by dcwayne on Fri Jan 17 06:03:37 PST 2003
After weeks of research, patience, and discussions with local dealers, I've ordered a Pilot LX from out of state. I went with the same dealer and salesman Atalay went with, Marc Douglas at Waikem Motors in Massillon, Ohio, and agreed on an identical quote Atalay received ($800.00 over invoice). That price beats the pants off of anything around here (the Washington, DC, area). There are no sweet deals for Pilots in our neck of the woods, at least not yet. Although my truck is an LX vice Atalay's EX, I'm very pleased with the deal, financing, and shipping arrangements. Marc also said that shipment to my home would cost the same as Atalay's delivery, $350.00. I think that's a great bargain, particularly since the Pilot will arrive on a trailor, meaning there won't be any mileage added during the trip from Ohio to Virginia. I'm having to wait a bit for the truck I wanted (Red Sandstone), but that's ok. It's scheduled to arrive at the Waikem dealership in late February, to be shipped immediately after that. Marc's been very helpful and hasn't pushed anything; he said that I could pay the amount we agreed upon and wait for the Pilot, or I could go $200.00 higher and he'd swap with another dealer for a more expedited delivery. I opted to wait. I still have the options of adding "extras," which I might, and I have a couple weeks to decide. I affirmed Marc's guess that I found his dealership through Edmunds; he mentioned that another customer from the DC area (meaning Atalay, although neither he nor I mentioned names) was also doing business with them. Sounded like someone else from Pennsylvania had contacted him as well, but we didn't get into that. I wouldn't be surprised if Marc's reading this forum, but either way it doesn't seem to have mattered. Thus far, Marc has conducted a professional and courteous deal. "dcwayne"
