This is Natasha, Great idea about the Webasto su roof. Jeremy and I are talking about it now. I wanted to post a link for everyone to look at the style of convertible top Jeremy and I have sort of fallen for. .. it isnt a direct link because of the way the site works but if you go to volvo1800pictures dot com and click on the cabriolets.... it is the second from the bottom. It is dark green car... 1966, Holland. ID:439 hit the little blue dot to see more pictures. It is a very custom job as the guy that owns the car had desigend the top himself. Jeremy and I think we are willing to put the money into havint it done, because this is going to be our first baby together.. and nothing but the best for our baby, right? hahaha. But really, we wouldn't ever expect to sell the car and are looking at it as more of a project, recreation, etc... we would likely just spend the money elsewhere, so why not for a beautiful car that is exactly what we want. So , let us know what you think about of the top. I think it really preserves the look of the car. Also, What do you know about putting power steering into this car??? Natasha

We bought the car from David Holland at Eastside Nissan. But, to get the best price you need to come in and sign a line saying you will buy a certain car for a certain price. Pick your target price and work your way from there. They need to see the commitment to buy, or they won't bargain with you. The best email quotes I got were around your price, if not higher.

believe me if I tell you in two hours of crawling in bumper to bumper trafic will lead sometime to extreme fatigue for the legs. Try to drive in rush hours in van wck expressway in New York, or crossing the holland tunnel and hitting chinatown traffic and do it everyday and you will see how much stress you'll be subjecting your legs to. I drive MT all my life I don't like automatic, but still I hate traffic jum with the MT.

I wish I had my Prius when I used to commute into Manhattan from No Jersey back in the 80s/90s. I did take a 'trial run' a couple of years ago from Jersey across the GWB, down the FDR to 71st and zig-zagged across to 7th Ave then went down to the Holland Tunnel. 50-ish mpg up to the GWB. 55-ish mpg in 'normal' traffic across GWB 60-ish crawling down the FDR 35-40 mpg zig-zagging across Manhattan!!! 70 mpg running down Bway/7th Ave and out through the Holland Tunnel at 20-25 mpg

If I see the prices you pay in the US I get depressed. In Holland we are taxed twice on every car you buy, to give you all an idea. I had te pay $ 55,500 for my Outlander 2.4 AWD SE. I did receive a discount of $ 4,500 So please don't complain about prices

Good looking but much later than the ones from the 1800s. Between 1832 and 1839 (the exact year is uncertain), Robert Anderson of Scotland invented the first crude electric carriage. A small-scale electric car was designed by Professor Stratingh of Groningen, Holland, and built by his assistant Christopher Becker in 1835. Practical and more successful electric road vehicles were invented by both American Thomas Davenport and Scotsmen Robert Davidson around 1842. Both inventors were the first to use non-rechargeable electric cells. Frenchmen Gaston Plante invented a better storage battery in 1865 and his fellow countrymen Camille Faure improved the storage battery in 1881. This improved-capacity storage battery paved the way for electric vehicles to flourish. France and Great Britain were the first nations to support the widespread development of electric vehicles in the late 1800s. In 1899, a Belgian built electric racing car called "La Jamais Contente" set a world record for land speed - 68 mph - designed by Camille Jénatzy http://inventors.about.com/library/weekly/aacarselectrica.htm
