..Senor Dudley, you always make my day! Thanks. Were those plugs difficult to get free of the aluminum head at 120,000? all the best, ez....

...spark plug life........... by ezshift5 on Sun Feb 05 06:56:04 PST 2012

........for the J30 series V-6 using OEM factory Iridium plugs............. Given: 1. The NGK plugs special thread plating obviates anti-sieze goo 2. The COP ignition system/fine wire plug design permits extended life 3. Folks (by either design or cluelessness) are reporting impressive longevity. I have seen on various Honda websites 129,000 to 186,000 on the factory Iridium spark plugs. What is more interesting is that some of these unreal numbers are achieved without MPG drop, throwing codes, hard starting, poor idle, degraded acceleration, missing et al....... Comments? (I'm at 114,000 and plan install new NGK Iridium #6994 circa 120,000 this summer)

Re: Do NOT buy the 2012 Civic [hybrid93hatch] by ezshift5 on Wed Jan 04 17:57:54 PST 2012

....a test drive of the 2012 Civic Si coupe (which looks like the little brother of my J30a4 Accord 6M coupe) was actually rather pleasant - if not as smooth as the V-6, the 4 cylinder moves out rather well per C&D magazine numbers. My current Honda has - speaking for me now - set the bar way up there. I am really hoping the decision makers at HMC give us a winner with the GenIX Accord. all the best, ez....

Re: Plenty of Honda-Certified Independent Mechanics [jonahdog] by ezshift5 on Sat Dec 03 09:22:20 PST 2011

.........sounds great - but I'm unclear - if you're saying you've got 90k on your Primacy MXV4 Michelins - - - - well, you're making my day. FWIW: new tread depth is 11/32; at 42,000 on my three year old Primacys, there's 8/32 remaining.............. Now that is impressive to this sailor. ez..

Re: - [dudleyr] by ezshift5 on Fri Oct 28 06:05:44 PDT 2011

............that's a very encouraging report on NGK plugs - IIRC , K24/J30a4 plugs are identical for the Gen7 Accord..............my sole regret is not being aware (of AutoZone coupons).............. all the best, ez.......
