Great milage: by nigh on Sun Apr 06 19:37:38 PDT 2008; My husband and I recently made a trip from Asheville, NC to Richmond,VA using I40. We used cruise control and averaged (by computer) 30.1-30.5 mpg. The outside temperature was 70-73F. We use regular gas. Our Lexus 400h is 2 years old. LOVE our Lexus. It is quiet, comfortable and is perfect for long trips. :) :)

Re: MPG Reality Check [carquery]: by nigh on Sun Jul 15 20:46:34 PDT 2007; We have owned our 400h for almost 2 years now..I had to wait one year for it since when they were promised to come out, they did not. Since I was on a waiting list, there were NO discounts. Also, I wanted a specific color and the Mark Levson sound system. Of course, that cost more. I also bought the extended warrenty b/c this was a very new concept and who knows what can go wrong. Over all, we paid over $50,000 for it. I do not regret one single dime spent on this luxury and performance for this vehicle. It has been such a joy to drive. We average about 26.5MPG. We have it serviced every 5000 miles. The sevice center in Annapolis, MD is supurb. They always give us a loaner and we have driven many different models of Lexus. Hope this information helps..Anne :)

Hiway mileage -400h: by nigh on Thu Jun 07 15:25:02 PDT 2007; We just today had our 40000 mile service. We average 26.5 mpg. One has to learn to "feather" the gas pedal. I agree, for a car this size with this load, we are doing very well... :)

Since the colder weather here in the DC area, we have noticed a drop in MPG. Also, short trips seem to make the mpg go down, however, we are still averaging about 25.5 mpg. As far a the phone, Verizon Wireless works great (with the Bluetooth) but you cannot load all of your contacts. Seems to me that Lexus could have done a better job which would have included all of the major wireless carriers. Comments, please. Anne in Maryland :)

400h "stuttering": by nigh on Tue Jun 20 16:46:42 PDT 2006; I have a 400h with 21000 Miles on it and have never had a single problem with the "stuttering" mentioned. Very smooth ride. And, as far as the dealer cost for an oil change, the Annapolis Lexus dealer will even pick up your car from your home or office and bring it back to you. My husband and I just call and make an appointment for service and reserve a loaner (free) and go about our business. They call us on our cell phone when they are finished. We have free car washes for life, and they always wash it when serviced. They are always friendly and punctual. We have no problems with them... :)
