Wow I never knew about the gas mileage but it makes sense as my car does not shift like it use to and drives like a tank...I have also noticed the gas consumption is greater than before. I think I'll be getting rid of this car this spring if possible. I feel for all those who have had 2-4 transmissions put in...what a disgrace to Volvo for not recalling it and fixing it properly. Yes the radiator and lines are a must so make sure you ask for it when you have the work done everyone!!!
2005 RX330, 75,000 miles There is a "clunking" noise coming from underneath the rear of the vehicle whenever it passes over a bump or other discontinuity in the road like a gutter or driveway entrance. I have removed all of the tools and other items stored under the deck but the noise continues. I have lowered the spare tire and then cranked it back up tight agains two foam rubber pads between the tire and the underside of the vehicle - noise continues. A recent visit to a Toyota dealer (no Lexus dealer within 150 miles) did not find the source of the noise. The mechanic suggested that I schedule a longer visit so that he could use "clamp-on" microphones to try and isolate the noise. Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be something internal to a strut? i don't know anywhere else to look.
Yep, that's why I said the majority. From my experience, relatively few SUV drivers tow big boats, have 6 kids and a horse sized dog, live on a farm, etc. For those others, it's the only choice, more efficient than a two car trip. No question the majority don't have trailers to tow while hauling kids, but it's more common than you likely realize. In my neighborhood of roughly 50 houses. I know of at least 7 boats and 3 travel trailers and we all have more than one school age children. Go find a lake or a campground and you'll see the majority of full size SUVs and pickups towing something. But I'm sure it's a regional thing too. The midwest seems to have a lot of rv's and boats. Just travel any odd numbered interstate in the midwest during early spring or late fall. It's one RV after another heading south for the winter and back north for the summer. The trucks and fifth wheel RV's seem to get bigger every year. But to your point, I'm 100% with you. For many people a wagon or minivan makes far more sense than a CUV or SUV.
We'll have to agree to disagree. The chrome side moulding appears too thin to be a 56, and it has horizontal chrome on the trunk of a 55 and not the big "V" shaped Fairlane emblem of the 56.
