MDX Base Purchase
by rrshinn on Wed Jul 30 17:54:55 PDT 2008
Purchased a Steel Blue Base MDX from Prime Acura North Hampton, NH on 7/29 for 34,900. Very easy dealer to work with. Got a great price on my trade too. Added roof rails, side molding and all weather mats. Molding and rails give it a complete look. Still good inventory left and someone had traveled down from Vermont to purchase their car while I was there.
New Purchase MDX 2008

First of all, thanks to all for providing the detailed information on both quaility and pricing on my new MDX. Live north of Boston and have three dealers within about 1/2 hour. That is the key to get the best price and play them against each other. All dealers were great, low pressure had a very good knowledge base. But, each dealer has hundreds of MDX's sitting on their lots. The other car choice we almost purchased was the GMC Acadia, at the end no real price discount and dealers only have a few on lot. Purchased the base model with roof rack and rails, white with taupe and its been great. The last dealer I went to was Prime Motor (the old Ira motor group) in North Hampton, NH and within an hour, I was driving my new MDX out the door. (they told me I have the record) from negotiation, test driving my SUV to cleaning the new car less than an hour. They told be to bring in the check the next day. Great people and they really wanted to take the order from the other dealers. Maybe it was good timing. Traded in 2001 suburban that was beaten and more than a few dents or scratches. List price ($40,910). Final prices was $31,750 inlcuded the roof rack and rails installed ($6-700 option) all the destintion charges, prep fees and other dealer admin fees. Plus, an extended warranty from Acura that doubles the original warranty for $ 400.00 Not a big fan of these. but for $ 400 to get 8 years, 100,000 miles bumper to bumper was a no brainer. Prime guys where great, but my overall experiance at all three dealers was very pleasent experience. Once again thanks for all the information.

Someone on here recently said the days of good paying jobs without a college degree are over. They may want to read the article listed below for a second opinion. Here are some highlights: No doubt you can be successful w/o a degree, you have to be motivated/hungry whether you have a degree or not. The one thing that is misleading about that list is the statement a Bachelor's degree is not required. Sure, a bachelor degree may not be required, but no doubt you'll be competing with poeple who have a degree for many of those jobs. The list didn't say no college require, but a Bachelor's degree not required. Meaning, education beyond HS is still relevant and important. No to mention college/extensive training is required to be an air traffic controller as listed below: There are several ways to become an air traffic controller. Many are trained while in the military and after their service is completed, the FAA can hire them. If not a part of the armed forces, civilians can attend one of the 14 colleges recognized by FAA that give degrees in aviation administration with an emphasis in air traffic control. Minimum Requirements 30 years of age or younger United States citizen Become an employee of the Federal Aviation Administration Pass a rigid medical examination including but not limited to vision, hearing, substance abuse/dependency along with a background check (Need More Info?) Currently the FAA is hiring candidates who have graduated from one of the 14 schools* across the US: Community College of Beaver County, Beaver Falls, Pa. Daniel Webster College, Nashua, N.H. Dowling College, Shirley, N.Y. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Fla. Hampton University, Hampton, Va. Inter American University of Puerto Rico, Bayamon, Puerto Rico Miami-Dade College, Miami, Fla. Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, Tenn. Minneapolis Community & Technical College, Eden Prairie, Minn. Mt. San Antonio College, Walnut, Calif. Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind. University of Alaska Anchorage, Anchorage, Ala. University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, N.D. Vaughn College, Flushing N.Y. Hardly a situation where you'll get your H.S. diploma on Friday and be an air traffic controller on Monday

Boston area TL-S price
by prestonh on Sat Jul 21 06:51:28 PDT 2007
I finalized a deal at Clair North Acura (N. Hampton) for $31,848 on 20 July. 2007 [A/T TL.] However; this deal dissolved in a DISTURBING way. With negotiations complete, my deposit was requested and I complied. The vehicle "included" wheel locks. Our worksheet reflected minus $81. When the Purchase Agreement arrived I discovered their minus sign meant "Additional cost." A large "Administrative Fee" was also applied. During negotiations I asked about this specific fee- the salesman lied. I was willing to accept these two setbacks but as I was literally signing the contract the salesman covered his mouth and quietly mentioned: "We can't get you that color. This deal is for the TL on the lot." That TL was in a different color and served as the dealer's demo TL. I never signed the Purchase Agreement and I'm going to call today and have my deposit refunded. Thanks for reading. Seacoast New Hampshire
