I am not a car dealer, but I would put that one on Craigslist for 5k and see what you get. I bet you could sell it fairly quickly at that price, especially around the Boston Area. I might even want it for 4k! I'm in Somerville.

Can't wait for 09 Fit!
by fdanna on Wed Mar 12 06:56:52 PDT 2008
Wow, I had no idea that the Fit would be redesigned so fast. The first generation was a disappointment for me, style-wise. This new model is much more attractive and I'm definitely going to try one on for size (I'm concerned about leg room for a 6'1" person). To me the current Civic is frumpy (or plain ugly) and the current Fit is about the same (not frumpy, just ugly). The only Honda with any kind of style is the new Accord which is way too big for my needs (mostly city). Love the panoramic roof too (is the US model getting that as an option?).

I'm going to chime with my experiences on my 01 Focus ZX3. I'd have to say, my 7 year relationship with my Focus has been love/hate. I love to drive it and whip around town in it. Handles unbelievably well and is peppy enough. Gas mileage is so-so 26 to 30mpg. I now have 117k miles and here is my list of problem since I bought the car in no particular order: 1. replaced rack and pinion 2. replaced CV joint because of leaking boot 3. replaced radio 4. replaced clutch (yep, under warranty) 5. replaced clutch spring 6. replaced two alternators 7. replaced DPFE sensor (3 times) 8. replaced thermostat after overheating 9. replaced a/c compressor 10. replaced a/c switch 11. replaced transmission seal 12. replaced rusted out manifold shield 13. performed 5 recall services 14. two valve cover gaskets 15. replaced thermostat housing 16. replaced collapsed suspension spring 17. replaced front brake calipers 18. replaced Front sway bar end links (4 times) As I type the timing belt and water pump are being replaced (but this is actually scheduled maintenance). That is, in my opinion, a large amount of failed and replaced items. To add insult to injury, I've had to fight Ford tooth and nail on just about every problem. It's no wonder why they are sinking faster than the Titanic. Their new products are consistently rated very low in quality and often in performance. Aw well... my first and last American car.
We now live in a communist state.
by wesjo on Mon Nov 26 18:48:27 PST 2007
I brought a mercedes benz clk 430 2000 in the states. I decided to drive back to alberta Canada through seattle. Initially with the intention to drive back this past August. My family moved here after securing employment in Alberta due to the booming economy and and lack of jobs in the states. Anyways we decides to import the car to Canada, informed the right sources R.i.v, customs, U.s customs who where execellent. Got the Recall letter, went as far as to get a letter from mercedes benz Germany who manufactured the car. I was told the car is built for both the U.s market and Canadian market. Even the sticker under the hood and in the dash says it was for Canadian market. I went to the most recognized dealership in Alberta where I was told the car could be adapted to Canadian standards. But I had to pay 750 dollars for a letter that would tell me what needs to be replaced to make it adhere to Canadian standards. The cost of the letter eventually became 250 dollars because lots of folks complained. Then I had to spend whatever they decided was the cost of converting it to Canadian standards. Roughly between 3500- 7000 dollars. Basically they wanted to steal the money I saved on the car in the states. I found a person in authority at the dealership whose hands where tied that told me first hand that they decision was made to discourage Canadians from buying from the U.s, and that all they did to make the car conform to Canadian standards was put a sticker on the bumpers, and switch on a module for the day time running lights, and in some cases put child safety harnesses on the back seats. The Clk is a two seater the harnesses are for child seats, I got a quote from a german car automotive center in Calgary and all the modifications would have been 560 dollars. But mercedes benz dealership charge upwards of 3500 to 17000 I have heard. They are crooks, and criminals, why are we being treated like second class citizens, why? They have stolen from Canadians for so long and now we are standing up for the truth. I have pasted the copy of the letter that Mercedes benz Canada sent to me, with no real reson. They made up things and I don't have a recourse. They are big business and I am nobody, even though I pay taxes. Is this legal, Can the government and this crooks do this? Are we living in a communist country now, I thought Canada was different? I guess not. Thanks our government officials. Read this letter I attached, and find an alternative to Mercedes benz, they don't respect Canadians so donot support their business. There are lots of other luxury veichles better, cheaper and admissible without lies, and crookedness. I have a beautiful rare white Clk 430 with every option including navigation, and can't drive it. So it is for sale Taking offers. Very low mileage 84000 miles. From Mercedes Benz Canada: Thank you for your reply. Please note US and Canadian safety standards are not aligned; consequently, US certified Mercedes-Benz vehicles do not meet the following Canadian safety standards. CMVSS 101 - Controls and display CMVSS 108 - Lighting and Retroflective devices CMVSS 215 - Bumper systems CMVSS 210.0 - Tether Anchorages Industry Canada - Radio Frequency Requirements Subsequently, a US version 2000 CLK-Class model cannot be modified to meet CMVSS standards and is NOT admissible for import. Best regards, Erin Somerville CSI Co-ordinator Mercedes-Benz Canada Inc. smart Canada Division email:cac@mercedes-benz.ca 1-800-387-0100 1-877-627-8004 Is this b/s or what. My car has both the miles and the kilometre gauges, the bumpers are Amg. This bumpers are exceptional and very well made, and radio frequency. Give me a f--king break. Are they kidding me. Don't buy Mercedes Benz. Conforming to Canadian standards is not a problem if they are legitimate.
