I always work off the invoice price. Try the mbusa web site. Build your vehicle then you can send it to any MB dealer in the United State for a quote. You can an offer with your E-mail or request a quote. I found some of the best price in California from dealers in the cities of Torrance, San Francisco and Oakland areas. The E-mail goes to the Internet Department and they usually reply within a day or two. I do not know about the shipping to another state other than a European Delivery. You might also try the dealer in New Orleans and Holloway Motors in New Hampshire.

I've just read the link to Admiral Hopper. What a great woman! I may be getting old as I don't remember her but I do remember Rickover, Holloway, Kelso, and a few other Admirals some who were CNO's. Mack :shades:

I was just at Holloway Benz in Greenland NH. We were looking at the R350 with MSRP 55,000.00. The lease was 5K down and 581.38 a month for 27 months with 12K miles a year and a residual of 35,200(64% residual). The money factor was .0004. Upon leaving the dealership they had a CDI they could "promo" and drop off the 5K cap reduction. Your deal seems insanely good. We want that one. So $12k upfront for 27 months, 12k miles/year on a $67K MSRP? Nothing else? Any information you can give would be appreciated.

not sure what terms are like but at holloway benz greenland nh (sister dealer in manchester nh) as of a few weeks ago had few r500s left and sales manager very eager to move. I got lucky in sept, mine is loaded, $67k, 12k year, one pay $12k out the door, not a nicke more for 27 months. good luck, exceptional car for the $, almost makes me feel a little dirty...

I have 3 that I drive right now.'93,'94,and'00 and I think the '00 is the best one.It looks like the '03 once you change the head and tail lights but don't have the HP but with a few mods it'll be running like a wild horse. That's just my pick.

With all due respect KT; I understand that as a mechanic, seeing a video of the symptoms may not be all that helpful in diagnosing the underlying issue. But after all of the strange birds you've come across in your career, you must admit that seeing on a screen something as screwy as what's described above would at least help you believe that the person describing such symptoms isn't crazy or exaggerating. And from an owner's perspective, having such evidence on hand and previously presented to the dealership/and/or other company representatives may just be of use down the road should the spectre of arbitration raise its ugly head. As an *owner*, I still stick by my assessment of documenting the problem via video and giving it to the dealer for whatever it's worth. I guess the manner in *how* it's presented to the dealer should be determined on a case-by-case basis. If the dealership appears to be sincerely trying to fix the problem, provide them the video under the pretense of wanting to be helpful. If the dealership is acting apathetic or squirrelly, then use it as a hammer. In my past experiences with Ford dealers, 9 times out of 10, it would have been "Hammer-time". :-) The van owner claims in his post that: "Dealer says the cars been driven in "all kinds of conditions" over a two day period. "We can't duplicate the problem, so there's nothing to fix" ...which resembles all too closely the squirrelly van der Sloot claim in Aruba (regarding Natalee Holloway): "No body.... no case". In both cases we know that there's something wrong. It just comes down to the point of how much effort is there going to be expended to find the truth. If the dealership can't take the hit for this type of "discovery" time, the auto company (when presented with video evidence) should darn well have allocated funds to make it right. -SM
